Looking for Corbin seat for 1989 GS500.
Located in Toronto, Canada - looking for local deal only.
Willing to pay up to 150 - depends on seat condition.

Dude ... that is like asking for a ferrari and saying you'd pay 1000 bucks and it should run 75 clicks a gallon.

150 is too low. Far too low, I paid that much,l traded my stock seat and got a corbin with a bad top. I then slapped a blue top by my friend the upholstery man in houston and am happy now ... just need a GS repaired and ready to throw it on ...
Local pick up in toronto is really hard, I have lived there and I had the only 2 GS'es in 100 miles it felt like.
Junkyards - Zdeno's etc were seriously as bad as they come. I haven't seen much worse in the drug alleys in LA. Serious. Tough crowd.

I know but it does not hurt to ask - I am on very limited budget. Plus if there will be an offer - I can add something like older laptop to the deal.

Corbin @ junkyard is just about as rare as finding a decent chap with some common sense @ a junkyard. Just that, corbin's were a small market item, and they are highly sought after as well as $$$ even when new. Its got all the factors working against being cheap in the used market.

I bought mine from someone who shared my parking lot in the SFO streets and I literally way-laid him ... he was eager to sell the whole bike - he wanted 800 for the bike and I had to pay 150 and my seat for the corbin ... his seat was on with bungee cords and his locks etc had all been jimmied. Yea I paid 1/4 of his price for the whole thing for just the seat.

I'd also think about fattening yours or contouring yours with high density foam, or looking for a factory gel seat. Almost as nice as corbin for comfort and a lot easier on the frame of the bike.

I would not mind Sargent or Suzuki Gel seat. If I don't find anything - I'll order new and will hope to recover my cost when it's time to sell (which may be never - I love my GS )

Yep, but it is in Vegas. I will certainly consider it if I don't find anyting local.

The seat is $200 shipped or $180 with trade of your stock seat in good condition. Considering that shipping that seat costs at least $35, that brings the price of the actual seat to around $165, very close to your target of 150.

Might be worth considering.

Something to consider if you are tall. The Corbin lowers the sit-down height considerably.
If you are uncomfortable with very short peg-to-seat / knee bending stuff on longer rides
you might want to just go the gel-recover/stock route

true and I am looking into it. But I should've specified that I am looking for 150 CDN which is less than 150 USD. I got some offers on Corbin - if they don't go through I will PM Sargent guy.
