seized jets?

ok....i'm re-jetting for a new pipe and k&n lunchbox and i can't seem to get the main & pilot jets out. i'm presuming their seized. i haven't stripped them...yet.
so what is my course of action on getting these things out?

Mains rarely get stuck.
Pilots - all the time, I drill pilots with left hand drills. but mains Maybe grip with pliers or something. Or cut it deeper and use a screw driver, or near about cut to the base and fold like a book or something. No clue.

i'll try some pliers on the mains and see if that will loosen them up.

personally, when my jets were stuck, I applied a screwdriver to the jet, then I tapped (read: somewhere between a love tap and a nail driving blow) with a hammer to relieve the compression in the threads.
Then you apply all your weight down on the screwdriver and attempt to unscrew. sometimes you have to use pliers to turn the screwdriver if you're pushing hard enough.

No I mean left handed drills - a drill where you have the cutting edge set the other way than the commonly available drills.
And applying force not drilling action where there is less chance of outward force - especially to pilot jet can result in it splitting. I have 1 that is this way and one more that used to be, I made a good pair out of 2 bad ones, one left and one right was bad ... so ... swap em ... booya.

ok....all done  :woohoo:
dr. sparkie, your suggestion worked great. just a little "love" tap with a screwdriver and out they came (pilots that is). i had to resort to pliers on the mains.
OMG she sounds like a completely different bike now!
