I think I'm finally getting rid of this god AWFUL glock.  I couldn't hit the broad side of the fuching ocean with this stupid glock.................

Anyways......I think I've found someone that wants to trade for a Baby Desert Eagle in .45.   Anyone had time to play with one??  I've heard reliability can be questionable (I'd still carry my tried and true 1911 for EDC), but accuracy is freakishly good.

those mini eagles are bad ass imho. great carry gun. doesnt take up too much space. accuracy is pretty good as well, plus IIRC youll be able to share ammo wiht the 1911 . ive borrowed oen from friend recently. i loved it. wanted to keep it lol

Yup, it's a .45 so I'd be back to just having to find one size ammo.
I'm waiting to hear back from the guy (talking to his wife, the Glock would be for her), but he seems to have an over-inflated sense of the value of the BDE............

If it falls through, I may just ditch my 1911 and the Glock at cash prices and use the $$$ to buy an FN 5/7.   I've got a source for the SS190 rds.....................just something about a 2300fps, armor piercing handgun

It was between a ruger p345pr and the Baby eagle for me.  I wish I had gone with the baby eagle but the ruger has been great.  Its based of the CZ-75 design and is a tried and true czech/israeli style that is first rate.  Its built like a tank, locks up really nice and tight, and has a ton of aftermarket support so you can mod to your hearts desire.  The stock trigger is a bit rough to those used to a 1911 but I wouldn't spend the money on a trigger job as its going to decrease reliability and the benefit doesn't outweigh this.  I was able to make a coke can dance at 50' without any problems.  I'd get the baby eagle in a second if I could find one in 9mm or .45 again.

IMI claimed 1" groups at 25m and 3" at 50m.  That's nothing to sneeze at.   It seems that they're pretty big 'bang for your buck' weapons, much like the RIA 1911's.  I'm really hoping this guy gets the OK to trade, I've seen loads of positive reviews on the weapon.   Hmmm, even looks like it'll fit my 1911 holster should I decide to carry the BDE.

i've shot the 9mm baby eagle - it was really nice but once it got pretty hot it started jamming like crazy.
it wasnt my gun so it could have just been that particu8lar one, or the ammo.

If you limp wrist them, they tend to stovepipe too.

Whatsa matta with the glock terry? Seriously I hate glocks cheap plastic crap JMHO. The .45ACP was intended only for colts model 1911 as the almighty John M Browning intended....LOL

I haven't played with a baby eagle and being at work can't llook up info on it. What is the action on it. DA/SA SAO or DAO?

I suspect your glock issues are coming from the trigger action you've been shooting SAO in the RIA, the semi double action of the glock is probably throwing you off. Lots of guys shoot competition with glocks and do quite well.

Basically if the Baby eagle is not a single action like a 1911 you're probably gonna be unhappy.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

spc

The baby eagle is DA/SA.   My Glock is a 9mm and slightly more accurate than the Glock 36 I fired.  Fuching cheap plastic crap.  I've heard that I went about things a$$ backwards, that you should learn on a Glock then move up to a real weapon :dunno_white:

The guy thought his BDE was worth more than it was (it was a little worn and only included one mag) so that fell through.  I'm still seriously considering throwing both the Glock and 1911 out the window and getting the five seven.

bettingpython

Throw the RIA out the window I thought you liked it? I refuse to own glocks or M&P's because of the trigger action I cut my teeth on SA auto's so thats where I plan on staying.
I haven't played with the five seven to me it's one of those exotic play calibers if I just had to have something oddball to play with that might be it. I sold ny PARA P10 still have my taurus 1911 and the wifes springer, just got my order in for the last little bit of stuff I need for a new AR build... Black rifle disease it's a sickness.

spc

I'd agree with you on the five seven were it not for the fact that I have a reliable source for the SS190, steel core, level 3/PASGT killing at 300ft round.  That round alone takes it from an exotic toy to an insane carry weapon.  I'm still loving the RIA, but I'd probably ditch em both for an HK 45T too.  It's just having your priorities in order ;)

What's the new AR gonna be?  I had my eye on a PTR91 the other day that was pretty cheap.  Ughhh, I may end up trading the Glock in and getting that stupid thing, $800 is almost too good to pass up.

Roggio Arsenal lower with an A3 16" flat top upper magpul ctr stock and YHM free float quad rail. Magpul flip up BUIS and havent decided on optics eotech, aimpoint or really drooling over a trijicon TA301 locally guy only wants 6 bills for it.

It sounds like a mean little AR!!! That should be fun to have around.

Nothing says home defense like a 16" carbine with a 240 lumen tacllight. Waiting on upper parts now. Probbaly have to just run the BUI's for a little while need to get my second build done before deer season... hopefully. Lots of lowers available now but upper components are still slow to get

second receivers gonna be a 20" tack driver. ACE socom fixed length butt stock, stainless bull barrel with A3 flat top chambered for 6.8spc, magpul miad grip and enhanced trigger guard with a timney 2 stage 30 oz trigger. Already got the optic for it 10-50x 50mm variable illuminated mil dot recticle probably gonna go with a free float tube and bipod on it since it's function is going to be my hunting rifle. No need to mount all the tacticool goodies on it.

If I don't get number 2 built before deer season guess I'll hunt with the 5.56 again, not as good since I hoped to hunt the ravine this year and that necessitates shots of potentially of 200+ yards I'll have to hunt the woods again where the shorter shots are at.

Righttttttt!!! both my builds together won't add up to a rec7 in price. If I could afford a barret I wouldn't be waiting on 5 different parts orders because I had to bargain hunt for the best prices. I woulda just bought a vltor muir or an LMT monorail upper for $1300 both of which are in stock. I did splurge on the enhanced bolt titanium nitride BCG, went with the M16 carrier the extra weight and shrouded firing pin just make fore a more reliable system.

Local guy here is an osprey piston armorer and osprey just realesed their piston drive system to the civiillian market, thinking I might drop a few extra for that be nice to get rid of the direct gas inpingement system on my tactical rifle. 2000 rounds in a weekend class is a harsh test of a weopons reliability.

The Rec7 is only like $2400. It's supposed to be the best of both worlds, combo of an AR and AK. :dunno_white: I'd love to do a build, but I don't have the patience.  I'm just gonna keep my eyes open for a slick deal on a 91 or FAL.

OT: I can't wait to see a Barret 98B in person.  .338 lapua is one mean round :icon_twisted:

i read through the hunting laws here in ohio, and wouldn't you know, no center-fire or rim-fire rifles allowed? (deer)   :cookoo:  shotgun only(3 shell capacity max) or handgun .357 or higher. i'm sure there is a reason, but really, at this time, it doesn't make sense to me. let's take the 30oddsix for example, (a gun one of my uncles swears by for deer), wouldn't you want your hunters to be equiped with ample firepower to drop deer dead in their tracks?  :dunno_white: i mean, even with a shotgun or .357 you gotta get really damn close i'd think to ensure a good kill shot. i'm not too firearm savvy so i may be misunderstanding things.
