Alright, so for how much people here talk about them, but I feel like I should know this by now. When you guys talk about your K&N lunchboxes, is this what you guys are referring to?........   :dunno_black:

I know the stock airbox has a K&N drop-in, but to me, if anything looks like a lunchbox, it's the stock airbox. Does K&N make something that looks like the stock box, or is the picture I attached the one everyone is switching to? That's what's in my bike, and I just thought it was something random that a lot of people weren't using. I spent a while talking to Buddha trying to figure out what jets to try, and I think I was just confusing him with all my questions because I didn't know what kind of filter I had. I guess with that filter and a full Vance & Hines I can just go with what's on the matrix..... pilot 40, main 150, 1 washer, and 3 turns? The needles I have are tapered, and have different slots for the e-clip, does that make a difference? they're on the second slot at the moment. I also have these other ones that came in a box with spare parts. They have a wider taper and say "5DH8" on them, I'm assuming they're the stock needles? The ones on my bike now are the ones circled. Should I stick with those?

The Buddha

K&N lunch box and DJ needles buddy - put a pipe on and you may wanna try a 135 mains ... and maybe stock pilots - not sure, mine run great with 40 but fasterlapdunn run 40 and it ran like sheite ... and 37.5 was his ticket.
Cool.

Thanks! not that I didn't trust your recommendations before, I just wasn't sure if the updated air filter info changed anything. I got my por-15 in the mail, and I found somewhere close to get a battery, so I think I'm just gonna finish cleaning up the carbs, and then put it back together with what's already in it, and see how the bike rides with the carbs cleaned. I'm going to have to pull it all back apart once I get new shims anyway.

I'm really not trying to be a duck (this time), maybe people don't know about the wiki?

i'm not sure, but isn't this the first time a picture displayed stock and dyno-crap needles side by side on gstwins ?

it should be in the wiki, if it isn't. but.............. off i go to work .... :D

I've done nothing but read that wiki up and down the past two weeks. It's the most I've read since I was in high school 10 years ago, which is actually where I came up with my question. I saw it referred to as a lunchbox in the wiki, and just wanted to make sure it wasn't a type, because for a month now I thought a lunchbox was something else, and no one else has posted a picture of one before. Jets are covered a bit on this site, but you don't really hear much about needles.
