Imwriting this because this is how i feel about this site. weve got a bunch here that are worth their weight in gold IMHO of course. ill list em and why
Gsjack = tires
pablo = knowledge of trackday stuff. and a source of good ideas as far as that goes.
a host of members here who are engineers. so they may know how to make something work on our beloved gs' or anyhtign else we may end up riding
some here that work on teh field of law. so if we have a legal question can get an answer wiht some credibility. jaked is one i know of for sure. may be others
medical:
Mary: with her knowledge of emt type stuff. is a godsend if youve got an injury or somethign. need advice on what to treat it with until you see a doc. if a doc is needed ( or suggested )
Wladziu- not a doc YET, BUT damn guy knows his stuff. called out my probs and i didnt tell him anythign about them in detail. yet he asked MORE than docs did at ED. ( hell go places methinks) may act or sound liek a bit of an ass, BUT knows his stuff.
Geep knows his way around a cnc mill can siggest or give ideas how HED make somethign for whatever.

Buddha: carbs.  'Nuff said

Kerry : when he posts can walk a person whos never EVER touched a gs mechanically , though a valve adjustment

Bob broussard.  Heh IIRC was oen that grafted a gixxer head onto a gs bock. or knew how it was done. plus his ignition advancers from what ive hear worked extremely well. BTW the gixxer head had the outer two cylinders removed. looked bad ass.

Cafeboy the solo covers he either makes or sells

werase643, dgyver, kevinc, JamesG, sledge, ohgood the list is long among the old timers.
Most of us have gone on to other bikes, or were always into others ... but in a way that is why its so cool.
Like you have this problem, better not ever even think of a EX500.
Cool.

Any "valuable member" thread that doesn't mention fred should be sent to the tard farm immediately.

Crap...how did I forget sledge...I always pay attention when he answers a question.

For advice on how to get mechanical things fixed then I know who to turn to...which would seem most valuable on a motorcycle forum...

If I ever need advice on playing nice with others, love letter writing, overly long-self indulgent goodbye threads, and the art of post whoring to the point of irritation...then I also know where to turn...

I must say this is a great site. One I visit just about every single day! You guys are like weird brother's of some sort. I think it is awesome that when a gser is in need many of you step up and help out. When my clutch lever was bent Loki sent me one. When I couldn't find warm glove in Fl or krap who was it dang it well he sent me a pair. Cafe to celebrate my b-day gave me one of his solo cowls (again thank you). Geep found out on another site that my pants were lacking knee protectors and sent me a pair! Yama listened to my endless biatching. Wlad we've had great arguments. And Jserio the resident bikeless contributor!

I have tried to reciprocate what others have done for my by passing along extra things that I have. I think it makes this site all the more better when we help each other out!

To a great site

This site changed my life. Before, I was a mechanical novice, and wasn't even sure how to change my oil. I was scared to do it. But many gstwins members pitched in to help. Now I am a stud with tools and I am capable of doing oil changes, chain and sprocket, valve check, headlamp adjustment, battery swap, and many other things. I have many tools and have performed many tasks successfully on my bike. Thank you GStwins.

oramac

There are many former GStwinners that I miss.  This forum is hugely different from when I first joined up.  It's less about motorcycling now...  I'd explain it further, but those that have been here for a few years will know what I mean.  People I miss:  Kerry, Cernunos, Alphafire, RoadsterGal, Weaslenose, and others.
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

jserio

i must admit, i feel that i've only really contributed one worthy motorcycle related thread. and it wasn't my doing, i found it on another site(which i no longer frequent) and posted it here. gracious pandy made it a sticky. i believe it's in the FAQ section? anyhow...other than that, i think i'm just a postwhore with a love/desire for a bike.....  :dunno_white:

however, i do keep coming back, i enjoy it here.  :icon_mrgreen:

I'll just agree with what everyone else said. Sure, I'm an @$$hole and get in arguments with people here, but I guess that's just life. Plenty of good people here, with centuries worth of combined knowledge. Maybe I'll even start posting regularly again!  (until I get banned again  :police:)

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Don't even care about post counts anymore. Between the four or five forums I'm active on, I've got more posts than I care to admit, but I don't care about the numbers anymore. I guess I've matured at least a little bit  :)

Quoteweve got a bunch here that are worth their weight in gold IMHO of course.

Your not the only one with that opinion.  The folks here have given me more knowledge about bikes in general and the GS500 in particular then any other site.  When I first came to this forum I just lurked for a long time before I joined.  An even after I joined it was a bit intimidating just to post anything because I was such a newbie (still am)and had more questions then input, but everyone was so welcoming.  There are no haters and even the fights were amusing and mostly ended well.  Even though some old timers have gone on to other bikes and other forums, their knowledge via their posts continues to be passed on.

Thank you all!
