2.5' is awfully short.  The darkness does funny thigns to your vision and your perception of reality as im sure you know.

Use an xrep round for your shot gun so you dont initially kill it. That way if it is a kid, you have 20 seconds to yank it out and run the oppisite way before they get up and see your face. if its not a kid, shoot it in the head with your side arm or a lethal round from the shotty..  Either way, take a pic.  lol

Were it a single occurence I would be inclined to agree with the first statement, but I've seen this little fucher multiple times.

Awww, dam.  I was gonna use these nifty flechette 12ga shells I have, but your idea makes a lot more sense.  Maybe I'll borrow a friends AR10, his scope is insane so I could probably get an accurate and detailed sight picture then make the shot from 600m or so.

Probably one of my kids, its the erratic behavior and lightning speed that gave them away.... Did you happen to see any fires or signs of delinquency around?

And so on......

No fires or vandalism.  I'm still itching to try out these neat-o 12ga flechette shells and see first hand what a Ranger T round does to flesh.

My dog was growling at something when I went out to get him tonight, dunno if it was the gremlin, one of the stray cats or a freakin gator.  (probably not a stray cat, the gator has been taking care of that problem lately)

in my experience flechette rounds are inaccurate.  The shot some at the range and at 30yards or so the pattern was huge and inconsistent.  maybe your rounds will be better but the ones we were shooting def had half the flechettes point side down, we took one apart to see.  We couldn't keep everything on the target unless the target was closer than 10 yrds and in that case at least several went through the target sideways.

Hmm. Whatever happened to being sure of what you are shooting at before shooting?

If the gremlin has a specific area that you see it in, it's easy-peasy to park a motion activated game camera with either IR or flash there and see what it is - with no harm done if it is the neighbor's really fast kid. You can shoot pictures, video, B&W, color - the current ones are all digital, so no fuss with wasting film.

No chain yanking here, but I've decided to take the same approach as I do with the local gators.  'As long as it stays off my patio, I don't give a fuch, but if it comes on my patio I'm gonna make the neighbors think WWIII just broke out'

do you have one of those million+ candle power hand held spotlights?

If so maybe you can spot light it next time you see it from your porch and be able to tell what it is

spc

I have some pretty mean spotlights, but unfortunately they are bolted to my Rover.   I'm thinking the POA/gestapo would get pretty pissed if I drove my Rover down the course in the middle of the night :cookoo:

shiznizbiz

yeah, but the story would be amazing.  lol.  Im still voting for the xrep round in the ol shotty btw
