well how about this. i'm going to get the gmax, and report back to you all on it. i'll also keep watching for a rating on that site someone posted up. i hope i won't be able to report on the safety factor, but i'll tell you about the comfort and features, and apparently, as a $110 helmet, it should be safe as goodness.

Have you tried on this helmet to test the fit? If not does the place you are getting it from have a return policy?

are you talking to me? no i haven't tried it yet. i'll be finding a dealer to buy it from and not online, so that i can try it on.

well maybe not. it doesn't appear that they are sold in stores. i'll take the risk. it's supposed to be know for it's fitment, and my head is pretty normal shaped and fits in all the large helmets pretty nicely, so i'll order it and see how it works!
