I've decoded one of David Blaine's tricks

I have cracked one, can others post how he did some of the others. I think much of the card tricks are done with doctored decks and cards that have micro chips in them.

Anyway that one where he flips the deck in front of you like you would with a book in street magic - done at speed ... the Queen of spades is the only card you would remember. That card tends to sit a wee bit longer in the speed of flipping and it is towards the end, so you only remember that. I hit freeze as he starts to flip, and I saw Jack of clubs. Obviously, you're not going to be able to freeze him (though that 62 hours in ice was impressive) so you only catch queen of spades.
There are a few others I can see will be easy with micro chips ... but some of the rest I cant ... how does he read somene's mind - fine if they are all acting OK possible. Turning coffee into coins I dunno, but biting and spitting back coins can be sleight of hand harder to freeze frame it ... its done in low light in the DVD ... The freeze frame was too vague ... I think most of it can be cracked with the right DVD player ...

Like in cricket, the non striker can easily see the googly from the bowlers hand and signal the batsman. Totally illegal ... but they do it all the time. We would get suspicious when the non striker stays back instead of advancing for the run.

Ever watch Magic's greatest secret's revealed. It's on UPN it is just what you are looking for! Will love how limber the assistants truly are!

The coin to coffee one is the most disturbing. It almost looks like it's done by CG.

I believe I have seen that, but David Blaine is a bit outside that - That was a few years old right. They didn't do a new one did they ?

He actually blurs the line between endurance and magic. 62 hours in the ice, the buried alive etc etc is all just endurance. I'd like a good athlete try it ... maybe a Lance Armstrong (as long as he is definetly not doping, bugger is a skinny dude) or someone like Michael Phelps or someone with a wee bit more body fat try it.

The levitating trick I am near about certain that its done with a transparent prop rod.
Bringing things back to life etc, I have to say the "dead" pigeon was just a sleeping pigeon put in there ahead of time.

Cool.

the funny thing about the coffee trick was that he took the cup from what looks like a homeless guy holding a cup of liquid. once he changed it and gave it back the the guy, the guy did not falter in holding it at all. I think a full cup of change would be much heavier than a cup of liquid.

The Buddha

Very nice catch seamax. I will look again ... still got the dvd.

I think i saw something about the biting coin trick.

They modified a quarter so that it folds in half and he just switches the rigged one for the real quarter.

The Buddha

And yea in low light it will work ... that damn footage is so blurry ... I just went though it in the dvd.

There is a guy that can run a half maraton barefooted and in shorts in -22 F snow! The most officially by Guiness is one hour 45 minutes in a tub of ice here is the dude http://english.sina.com/world/p/2008/1210/203803.html  So why is Blaine not counted for the 62 hours because it didn't 'happen' :bs:

I don't know how old the magic show is but with UPN well is anything new other than SmackDown!
