Howdy all,

Up for sale is my '05 DR-Z400SM. Very well maintained, with a documented maintenance history and upgrade list, including date and mileage. Oil changed every 2000 miles with Shell Rotella T 15W-40. Mileage is 11,1xx, though it is my daily commuter so this may increase slightly. Tires are a good set of Michelin Pilot Powers, with plenty of tread life left. It's a lightweight bike, and the Pilot Powers have a few thousand miles left in them, probably. The bike starts, idles, and runs flawlessly. It will start first kick, no problems.

A few modifications:

  • Unabiker radiator guards, gold anodized
  • Scott's aluminum skid plate
  • SME axle sliders front and rear
  • Acerbis Rally Pro handguards
  • Moose stainless steel front brake line
  • Scott's reusable oil filter
  • DRC Edge2 LED tail light
  • Acerbis Supermoto front fender
  • Suzuki OEM kick start kit
  • ProMoto billet rear rack, gold anodized, with a storage box designed to fit onto it
  • Some other minor things I can't remember

All stock parts are included, as well as two sets of keys, the owner's manual, as well as the Suzuki service/repair manual.

This would be a good beginner bike, for those of you not able to find a GS in the area, or would make an excellent bike to step over to. It's not necessarily a step up, but it is definitely different than the GS.

Clean Texas title in my hands.

Reason for selling is that I'm looking to get an SV.

Asking $4000, but make me an offer and we'll see if we can work something out.

If you've got extra bikes lying around, I'm considering trades for an SV650/1000.

I very well may be returning it to stock in the coming weeks. I still have about four weeks before I move, so I'm not in a huge rush to sell it right now. If or when I do pull stuff off of it, you will be first in line for the two.

It comes stock with an electric start. I added the kick start so I wouldn't have to worry about battery issues.

Too bad you are not closer. I would gladly trade my SV, once I finish reassembling it of course.
Common sense in not very common.

Is it an '03+? It's a shame I didn't decide on this until AFTER my dad went to Deal's Gap for the year. I would have made him pick me up a bike!

Bump to help Alpha get some eyeballs on his motard this weekend; If I had the money...

Hey Alpha, I know you've got your degree in engineering, but what is your specific focus in grad school?

Just wondering; did you happen to do a writeup on how to add the kickstarter to these things?

Back in the day, I read your blog frequently, but time takes a toll on all of us...

Keep punching man; I hope you sell this to a GSTwinner with more spending cash than I happen to have right now...

Thanks for the bump. As soon as I sell this, I've got a bike lined up (unless it takes way too long to sell, of course).

My degree in grad school is going to be in Materials Science and Engineering.

The writeup on how to add the kickstarter is on ThumperTalk.

My blog? You mean that POS livejournal I barely wrote in?
