we should go for a ride sometime, I go to waco a couple times a week for school.

I used to have a 97 Ducati so i have about a years worth of riding experience.  This is a fun bike, not too fast, but looks good, and gets some awesome gas mileage.  I'm getting about 50-55mpg, as i just putt putt around in this thing.

Heck yeah, i've been tryin to find someone to go ridin with.  Most of the guys around here are just into racing, stunting, or jsut sitting around.  I still havn't really just went riding around. but i havn't even had it a week so im sure that has something to do with it.  haha.

And to whom asked about the gear.  I have a helmet, and an extra long shirt so i don't ass crack people while im driving down the road. lol  other than that i just wear work pants.  Whats a MSF course?  haha

Get yourself a proper motorcycling jacket and some all leather motorcycle gloves. Road rash sucks, and so does nerve damage.

And take the MSF course.

Get a mesh jacket for the summer, leather for the winter. Good armor will save you broken bones and road rash.

Make sure your gloves are all leather.

Road rash sucks. It isn't worth the pain or hospital bills.

Jackets are cheap compared to hospital bills. Even with insurance. Even if try and take care of it yourself the medical supplies alone would overprice the cost of a jacket. Gauze, anti bacterial cream, medical tape, distilled water (avoid using tap water to clean the wounds), and other little stuff, not to mention the pain, scarring, and possible nerve damage.

If you don't have enough money to get a jacket, you don't have enough money to ride the bike.

Jackets are cheap.

If you're really small, get this jacket, it's only $30.

Closeout mesh jackets
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/14/CClass/Street-Bike-Textile-Vented-Jackets-Mens-Riding-Gear-Closeouts.aspx

There are also TONS of places to get closeout jackets online. There are no doubt plenty of mesh jackets in your size on craigslist right now.

Here's another good place:

I probably wouldn't have my right forearm right now if it wasn't for my jacket. Or, if I did, I wouldn't have much use of it. I was dragging on the ground on my elbow, and it ripped through the dense padding and started scraping the hard armor. Had that not been there, it would have been instantly scraping bone, and would have kept going.

Riding in the winter isn't difficult here. A nice warm leather jacket and some other minor cold-weather gear and you're set.

Again, make sure your gloves are all leather. I'm trying to save you pain and suffering if something does go wrong. Learn from the experience of others.

I have a question......where can you park with motorcycles?  someone told me i can aprk on sidewalks, but i think they were talkin out their ass.  Was looking around and i seen that you can park at the end of parking spots(if the diagonal yellow lined spots) in some states.  Also, at some theaters and stuff i see people parking up on the big sideways to the side.  Whats the laws for motorcycle parking inTexas?  Tried searching but didn't come up with much.

It's usually up to the business if they allow parking on the sidewalks. Most people don't complain if you're in the diagonals of parking spots, or if there is a WIDE sidewalk and you're near the wall. You can't park on all sidewalks though. It's really a case by case basic.
