Like Bill said they are available at Walmarts and just about any auto parts store that sells oil.  I started with Mobil Delvac 1300, then Shell Rotella T, and last time I went to local Autozone they only had the Chevron Delo 400.  I just made my 2nd change with the Delo and I hesitate to say it yet but it seems to be the best so far.

my next question would be, would you start a new bike on the hd oil?  or begin the hd oil after the miles pile on?

I'd start using the 15-40 hd oil with the first oil change on a new bike, usually at 500-1000 miles.

Ok so im at a loss on what to do, rode bike 200 miles at 70-75 at 70 degree temps on sunday. Warmed bike up and checked oil before trip home. Oil was just below the f mark. Stopped and got gas at the 175 mile mark checked oil and at same level. Rode bike to work the next day and the movies (15 miles) in town. Checked oil today at lunch (bike cold and warm) and now the oil is at the half way mark. Oil is 10-40 bike oil forget the brand but can post it when im home. i for sure am getting accurate readings (level ground bike warm then waiting for oil to fall back down and not screwing dip stick in) The dealer did a compresson check and they said im right on last month. Why is this happening?? I also have no oil on plugs. Bike will smoke once in a great while when starting up on a damp or cold morning for a minute but doesnt smoke when its ben sitting for weeks and hardley ever does it (when it rains sometimes too) bike has about 9k miles right now and is a 07
