Low 13 seconds on a naturally aspirated GS... I'm gonna need to see some time sheets.

Apparently I was drinking when I said that. Cause I was so far beyond wrong it wasn't funny and I'll admitt to that. Not sure why 13s were stuck in my mind.  When MCN tested the F model it was 14.67 @ 88.3mph.  I got that from here: http://www.mcnews.com/mcn/model_eval/NinjaGScomparo07a.pdf

I apologize for being wrong.

Jeremy, that was a slow pace? lol  Maybe I need to reconsider riding with you guys.  I wouldn't have a chance.

you should be able to keep up with me without much problem.  as 500 riders we make up for the straight aways  with our cornering ability.  in the twisties, thats about our pace, but we generally ride faster on the straighter roads.

If I wan't to lunch to bike as fast a possible at what RPM should I release the clutch?

jeremy_nash

my guess would be wide open, and feather off the clutch.  I was bogging pretty bad off the line, hence my pretty slow times.  neither I nor gstwins.com is responsible for any damage to your bike though.  lol

I'm planning on taken mine to Irwindale speedway in SoCal soon. It's only an 1/8th mile track.

What do I need to have for inspection? Do I need a full suit?

Also, did your guy's wheels come off the ground at the start? I have a the 16t spocket for now.

Any prefered rpm to launch at? or should I just experiment? Is a burn out necessary?

burnout, no traction wont b a problem, rpm's u will have to play with.  my local track requires long pants, leather jacket, leather full finger gloves, and a dot helmet.  to run 1/8th mile.  to run quarter, just add leather pants

Ok thanks a bunch :thumb:

I'm practicing my launches on the street so I don't bog off the line. Trying to lift up the front a little with stock spockets.

black and silver twin

to wheelie with stock gears rev to 6000-7000rpm and dump clutch as you quickly roll to full throttle. worked for me every time, i could ride them too 10000 rpm in first, assuming i didnt spin the tire which happened frequently when the tire was cold. now that I have clip-ons even with full power mods and 15t sprocket i cant get the front off more than a foot and i can barely hold it for 2000rpm  :embarassed: i think i might go with 14t next time, that should do it
