Just a light coating of grease? I assume you are dismantling them...

Not that I recommend using a fuel as a cleaner....but diesel would probably be a better idea than gasoline (diesel doesn't ignite quite so easily as gasoline)... Or a can of carb cleaner ...2 cans...dunno how much you have to clean.

Well if you wanted to strip everything that was plastic or rubber off, you could dump it in bucket of carb cleaner and walk away for a bit.  Otherwise I'd say get a can of spray carb cleaner or some gasoline.

How light ... what kinda grease ...
I spray em with silicone or wd40, usually it will get into gas and smoke a wee bit but otherwise ignore it ... however if its slathered on there ... you may have to clean it, and I would do gasoline if you're dropping it just a few mins.
BTW, what counds is the inside of the carb only ... outside makes no difference. Dont go nuts cleaning the outside cos if you're not careful and get it all inside ... you're screwed.
Cool.

thanks guys.. i am cleaning the inside.. and got 2 cans of carb cleaner for each side.. its pretty thick in there. i am just trying to get as much of the grease out.  at the same time i am learning what a carb looks like on the inside..  next i think is buying the jet kit from buddha.

Yep. Once you take it apart a couple of times, you will be pretty familiar with all the little bits.
