Had to go to Portland Maine on business last week. Odd little place, never been to the NE it's a cute city, but all the really fresh seafood available at reasonable prices was what was great. I had so much lobster I got sick of lobster.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

lob-STAH.   Say it right.   :whisper:

Did you have bike access?   I have an unemployed friend that took off on his BMW (from south Florida) and has been cruising around the northeast for about a month now.    (sigh)
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

No bike access we flew into Boston and rented a car to drive to Maine. And other than evenings didn't have any free time.
If we go with the application package we looked at the division headquarters is in Falmouth and I'll probably be returning for training. I might just make the drive and takie the mileage reimbursement equal to the flight costs and tack a few vacation days on just so I can haul the bike up with me and go riding.

I have a good friend who enjoyed his Maine vacation so much that he retired early and cashed in his retirement to live there.  I think winter pretty much sucks, but the rest of the year is great.

I cannot imagine any one hating snow if they are continuing to live in the extreme NE or NW for that matter.
Of course real snow is in the mountains of UT and CO ... but I would gladly do a few minters in NE just to get my fill of tubing/skiing snow mobiling etc.
God I love running 100 mph with no brakes ...
Cool.

And here in Oklahoma, the hot weather ratio seems the opposite (although last weekend was GREAT).

Then of course down here in SC, where we have thunderstorms in the middle of the day that don't do anything to cool the 100+ degree heat and we end up with heat indices in the 120's, tourists driving like they've never been behind the wheel of a car before, vile little 'cretins' that Ohioans apparently call children running everywhere and bumping into people and the stupid mid-life crisis SOB's who think they're someone because they drive a friggin 5 year old benz.  I bear maced a tourist the other day.  It was GREAT, but I really wanted to shoot him.   I need Valium.

dohabee

lol you actually maced someone? what happened to cause you to do that?

spc

His dog was running loose and started charging towards me ( 150lb mastiff, state wide 6ft leash law with no clause for positive voice command) so I maced the dog.  The owner got pissed off and shoved me so I maced him too.  He called the cops and ended up getting himself a mandatory appearance citation in 60 days that he bitched about for at least 20 minutes because 'he lives in Ohio', Popo said tough sh!t, if you don't show up we'll forward the bench warrant to your home county.

dohabee

Lol that's awesome. I have a 150lb great dane but I use a remote electronic collar instead of a leash. (99% of the time he obeys and I don't zap him)

I wonder if that counts as far as leash laws are concerned; If he takes off on a leash with my 110lb fiancee at the other end there is no way she is stopping him.

When you zap him with the collar turned up all the way he stops FAST.
