What program do you guys use?  I'm getting tired of my movies getting scratched up every time the nieces/nephews/neighbors/friends/etc use one.  Anyway, I d/l'ed a program last year and got a lot of bugs from it and am wanting to avoid that this time.

DVD Shrink and Nero

I tried DVD Shrink and I keep getting "redundancy error" every time I try to open a disc (working on 10,000 BC and it quits as soon as I get passed the title menu).

I don't use it often but it is pretty simple/user friendly.

you can try dvd decryptor and then re-code the movie.

mplayer (mencoder) (mac, linux, bsd, windows)

dvdcopy (linux, mac ?)
dvd::rip (note there are TWO colons there) (linux, fast as heck, mac)
dvdcopy (cli only, linux, really, really, really freaking fast)
ffmpeg/ffmpegx ( mac, linux, bsd, windows)

re-encoding for phones/whatever:
quicktime pro (it's really, really good, with good supported codecs)
vlc
handbrake (even better since the last few versions)
ffmpeg/ffmpegx
mencoder/mplayer


they all work fine, but my current simple/fast combo is handbrake. it's a mac app, but there may bea windows verison in the pipeline. all the ones i listed are free/FREE, with the exception of QuickTimePRO, but it's worth it.

i dont see this as piracy, mak so ill contribute. IF you can locate, the movie on say lime/frostwire or one of hte other sitres, and you HAVE the physical copy of it. i se no problem. ive founda few flicks there ( and ALOT of VINTAGE porno  )

lol I'm not really against the piracy thing, but it's so hard to find copies of anything that's worth having...my effort is usually worth more than the $5 it'll take to get the movie from the bargain bin at Wal-Mart...vintage porn is awesome and findable, though!  Did you know chicks grew hair down there?!

...of course now I can't find my Nero 9 disc (came complimentary with my HP LightScribe burner) so I'll be getting that off limewire...:rolleyes:

I did something wrong, I suppose...the copy of Nero I D/L'ed didn't let me copy the files from DVD Fab.

Are there any programs that display both your drives and let you copy from one to the other directly?  You know...like dual cassette tape decks back in the day?

If I recall it lets you copy from one drive to another directly.

I think once you put both discs in you just click copy and it does the rest.
