Has anyone here ever heard of or used D-Tect security http://www.d-tect-security.com/bikealarms.html ?

A few of us over at the UK GS board are looking for someone to vouch for the quality of these alarms because they seem very, VERY cheap compared to prices for similar items here (and that's including the shipping costs).

Any info would be much appreciated.

It looks like they're a Thai company, which could explain the low prices.  However, I agree that the prices look too good to be true: $34 for an alarm, and $18 to ship it internationally?  Hm.

I'm also dubious about their models with an integrated pager system, unless the "pagers" are just small radio transmitters (using what frequency?)

I did a web search and found no customer ratings of this company, good or bad.

Well, if you want to be the guinea (ha!) pig, then you could buy a small device and see if anything shows-up.  The site you point to apparently accepts VISA/MC, and that offers some buyer protection here.  It's best to use a credit card which is paid-off.  Do not pay the balance on the card until the goods you ordered show-up.  If the goods never show, then first try to work with the seller, then contact your credit card to arbitrate if necessary.  If the goods show, but are bogus (nonfunctional, made for 6v systems, etc), then you'd have a harder time.
You cannot escape our master plan!
