Tried to start my bike today to no avail. It just cranked and cranked until the battery was dead. The only thing i can think of is that I left it out over night and we got a ton of dew. Could I have a condensation problem. I've never had this happen so I'm hoping someone more mechanically inclined can help me out. Thanks.

Its a 2005 with 13500 miles on it.

how much gas is in it? if not full, I would start there. second, set petcock to prime.try start, if it doesn't, pull the plugs and make sure they are getting fire.  if not, there is your problem.  if they are getting fire, look towards the carbs.  attach a hose to they carb drains, and open the screw. if you dont have gas, then there is a blockage between your tank and the carbs.  assuming you did add fuel

First things first... did you check your kill switch?
How was your fuel level?

Kill switch was good.  As well as clutch, neutral, and sidestand.

did you try switching the petcock to prime?

How long has it been sitting since the last time you rode it?

the starting motor can't work with an opened kill switch, can it?
braking cause less speed

mine wont start either, just tried today after putting it all back together. bought it wrecked.  which way on the Petcock is prime? mine only says on and reserve. i have a 97 500e.

sledge

Pull a plug out, lay it on the head and see if it sparks when you crank it over. If it does get a can of this and "de-fib" it back into life.

the mole

1. Charge the battery
2. Remove plugs, lie them on the head, crank engine and check for spark. If spark is good,
3. Check there is fuel in the carbs, and that it flows through from the tank if the tap is on 'prime'.
4. Let us know what you find.
