Any suggestions on a new sprocket?

Just want to see what people think.  My rear sprocket and chain need replacing and I just want to know what people's opinions are about differant sprockets.

Dont know what sprocket i want yet.  Dont have alot of bank though and dont mind a change in sprocket size going up as long as it fits 110 links. definately dont want to go down a size (unless down 1 tooth is cheeper by 30 bucks lol) , as I very rarely will be riding highways so the top speed advantage is not too important.  But going up a size for spreader tank wheelies down the road  :icon_twisted: isnt a huge issue either since im about 5'5 and 130 pounds.

Please post links if can with your suggestions.  :)

I would spend a bit more on an O-ring or X-ring chain.

Nothing much - they last 3-5x longer since the rings keep the grease in the important moving parts, and also keep the dirt out. Chain lube is doing very little (not nothing, but not too much work) and is not getting into the deep guts of the chain with its load of road grit.

A no-ring chain, the chain lube picks up dirt and then takes it into the rollers and proceeds to grind them with it.

I think you should buy a 42 tooth aluminum rear sprocket, but only because I happen to be selling one, so I'm totally biased and all about self interest there.  :icon_twisted:

No idea how many links you need for that, but a more typical chain supplier will hand you 120 and let you shorten it, or will cut to length.

You can get a Parts Unlimited o-ring chain from Dennis Kirk for $56, made in Japan and quadstaked.  Only $10 more than the DID non-sealed standard chain your looking at from Superstore.
