I guess the economy sucks, and I find it hard to selll anything. Car parts, bike parts :/ bike gear..

So without sounding like and ad..
I'm thinking about taking advantage of the garage I have and parting out my 94. Lunchbox and VH exhaust. How much do you think I can expect from the partout?
Engine is high mileage and I don't know if anyone would want it.

Any inputs? help me make a decision. thanks.

look on ebay to get an idea of what parts or going for, and you could give the breakers yards a ring and ask what they charge for certain things.

Bad motor or not ?
If bad motor and all else is intact ... and I mean nearly perfect, guages, tank especially, then maybe 3-400.
Motor is good and you can prove it, as in you run it in front of the buyer, I'd say 300 for that alone.
So 6-700 for near perfect bike. Only reason you would do it is ... if you're insane, cos @1000-1300 they should sell in the condition parting will get you 700 for.
Cool.

Parting out stuff is a lot of work. Take apart, advertise, shipping. Ugg. Sell it as one piece if it still runs and drives.

If you're looking to maximize the transaction, take the effort instead to put the bike back to stock and sell the hop-up parts (lunchbox, exhaust) here seperately, since they don't increase resale value. This assumes you kept the old parts.

I'm with everybody else.  I parted mine out a last month.  The only things of value (pretty much) were all the aftermarket parts.  Luckily I had lots and lots of those.

Don't expect to get any real money for anything other than the motor.

My 90 GS500E has spread itself across the nation.

In order of demand crash damage parts are always the first to go, front wheel, forks, clocks, lights, tank and plastics, bars and brake reservoir etc. Then electrical parts, reg-rect, relays, switchgear. Then its cables, levers, brake parts, rear shock and linkage and cush-drive. Everything else will be hanging around in your garage for a long time. If someone wants the engine 9 out of 10 times they dont want the carbs, starter or alternator and you will get more cash by selling these seperately than you will if you include them with the engine.
