Anyone else do trackdays in the southeast? .....Jennings, Tally, CMP, Roebling, Barber......It's about that time again to head back to the track.

I'll be at VIR Monday, May 24. Anyone who'd like to sign up can do so directly through the shop that rented the track. www.danddimportcycles.com or call Bryan at 757-423-1082 and tell him Dan from Octane Magazine told you to call.

I have been wanting to go to VIR, probably make it at least once this year. To know several riders from the Charlotte area that go there quite often.

I'm going to try to get a few track days in this year.

VIR is a great track. Of course, it's the only one I've ridden - but even more experienced guys all seem to love it. The shop owner was telling me about a GS with a big bore kit they're setting up for the track day. Hopefully he'll be ready to go, I'd like to see at least one more GS there! And it would be neat to see how much the displacement helps. My buddy Mike will also be there with his 400 Bandit. Another fun little bike.

Are you racing or just puttering around the track?

With a stock bore, the GS is a little weak in top end, but will smoke most bikes in the turns, except a RS125/250. I was able to keep up and finally past a SV in the SRRS race at Jennings last year (it is just an open race without any real reward just bragging rights). Can't wait to try out the new engine (+1mm pistons & cams) and maybe have the 555 ready before I go again.

How far are you from VIR?

We need to hook up for a track day. I am planning on going to Jennings several times this year and maybe Tally with MARMO again.

I think 96gs was referring to the fact that he's pushing 16 years of age himself.  (Or is it 17 by now?)

So I'll see you there?!

BTW, anybody know where I can buy or rent leathers for a reasonable price. Don't know how sizes work for leathers - but I'm shall we say...ill-proportioned!
