Picked up this little beast with some others tonight

its a 73 rd350 drag bike. Has car coils, huge expansion chambers, struts, big wheelie bar, rear slick, and the dude said a bunch of motor mods. He said he thought it was 400cc?? Im not sure, ive never messed with 2 strokes. He said the motor was not stuck a year ago, but theres no oil in it so i gotta figure out how im gonna work it out. Im thinkin of keeping and trying and race next year unless someone wants it.

Pics are real bad, cause my camara screens broke so i got no idea what im snappin a photo off!

Why would somebody do that to an rd350? Let me guess the last owner wasn't real bright. What year is it? How much you want for it and where are you located.

It's gonna take an ass load of work to make that into a decent motorcycle again.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

I think its a pretty good idea!!......cheap dragstrip fun, this thing should be pretty quick and not a lotta work like a kz. Plus it fits in my truck bed. Its in better shape than the pics tell, its all dusty and had gotten rained on in the back of the truck. Shouldn't take much to get her going, from what i hear...no cams or valves. Might pull the top end this weekend, and see what is inside. Im in iowa, and not sure on a price until i mess with it. Its a 73.....first year

it is a 2 stroke, oil gets mixed with the gas or injected directly. I guy at work just bought one, a 1969. (technically an RD2)

Looks cool!

It was originally oil injection and now is pre-mix to allow fine tuning of gas-oil mix and to ditch the oil bag in a effort to save some pounds. Ive been looking into it and rd350's do have a drag race history and there is still more than a few around at the strip. Seem to be a good bike, and do well compared to other bikes its age. As of now i think im keeping this thing till it is up and running at least.   :icon_twisted:

I get the point in drag racing, but still, when I see a bike with a wheelie bar, I just think "what is this guys problem with fun??!"

These bikes are known to do wheelies.......but bars are needed to go fast with slicks, you dont wanna hook and end up with a bike on top of you!

Go watch some inexperienced riders on powerful bikes at a drag strip and you will see why....
