I have a Factory Pro kit part number CRB-S11-1.0 for the 04-08 GS500's.  Their website also specifies this kit for the 2002 my wife has, but the jets are just too rich for the stock airbox/exhaust on her bike.  I suspect they are intended for bikes with aftermarket exhaust and pod/lunchbox filters.

Contains 22.5 pilots, needles and clips, and 137.5, 140 and 142.5 mains.  I've used the allen head float bowl screws, so those are not included.  Installed jets, tested for about 30 minutes, and took them back out.

$45 plus shipping.  Paypal preferred.

Ok, this jet kit is of no use to me.  Surely someone needs it.....

It was $90 new.

How about $40 shipped to you in the 48 states.

You might have better luck selling it on ebay. The folks on this forum are hip to rejetting without these kits. I sold a DJ kit on ebay for $50.

I have a couple of questions:
1- I have a K&N SU-5589 air filter/stock pipes, will this kit work for me?
2- You used the allen head float bowl screws, how do I replace those? will ace hardware have them and whats the numbers?

The Buddha

Rather unlikely.
Su5589 and pipe ... without restrictor requires +2 over stock.
With restrictor and stock pipe is +1.
I sell a kit for that setup. In fact he's replacing his with jets I am sending.
The only way the factory one will work is if you were runnign K&N 2790 - lunch box and pipe.

The 4mm X 10 mm allens are available at good hardware places, or I will sell ya a pack of those for ~4 bucks shipped, and mine are stainless not crappeo steel like hardware store. My kit has them included though.

Cool.

Oh I forgot my mechanic ( I am mechanically challenged... lol) drilled the brass covers off the fuel screws, he said he did the same to his bike and it worked out great. The bike does run better but the screws are so far out that they come off, that's why he got me looking at re-jetting it.

The Buddha

Oh nice ... you my friend are up a creek wihtout a paddle.
Please tell me its a 89-00 where I have 1/2 a chance to save your bacon ...

Yea removing the plugs is good, but losing the mix screw = very very very very bad.
Gas leaks out, air leaks in and sheite cathes fire and runs like garbage ... aka screwed 12 ways from sunday.

Usually losing the screws never happens if the spring and the things are all behind the screw and stuff is OK otherwise.

And sorry no, rejetting isn't a solution to fixing a missing air screw.

Cool.

What is this "restrictor" you speak of???

the drop in style K&N filter has a restrictor that goes in the center of the inlet hole to restrict the air flow to help not make your bike run lean.  only problem is the bike from factory is already almost too lean for comfort.  then adding on the free flowing air filter of the K&N and now your getting into some not so good territory on the lean side.

Man that sucks, I have an 06 GS and I am not planning on investing in new pipes..too expensive. I am keeping the factory ones, about the screws you think the long boys fuel screws sold by factory pro would help? what can I do to fix this mess.. I read everywhere that the bike runs lean so I went to my mechanic for help... guess I was wrong trusting that quack! anyway its my first bike and it will help me learn a lot mechanically and develop my driving skills.

The Buddha

OK I will see if the 89-00 air screw will cross over. if I have it, $5 and $2 postage should cover it if you're in US.
Other than that, jet it to where it needs to be ... or well if it was OK before the air scre disappearing then it may be jetted fine.
Jet pack is 25 shipped. If you buy the air screw and the jet pack, I can ship it all for $2.

I am in AZ, Tucson. I'll get that jet kit from you plus the screws if it crosses over to my 06. how do we do this?

The Buddha

We can do paypal. I'll mail it in a day or 2 cos I have to pull the screws from a carb chassis.
I'll ping you soon with a cross over check ... 1 sec.

As per ron ayers its different from the 89-00 set.
I will however pull one from my 04 set and check it physically against the 89-00. They put different numbers of parts even if they have some insignificant differences.
Cool.
