I've been trying for a while to get my DOS version of Starfighter 3000 to work with XP...anyone got any pointers?

Dosbox is an emulator for running dos games on pretty much any platform.  I believe it is free and is one of the goto programs for running dos games these days (outside of an old Win 3.11 box )

EDIT:  Looks like Starfighter is only in the 'runnable' state (as of 2007), but it still might be worth a try to get it going.

I did some looking into dosbox and found where it only claims it's "runnable"...but it's the 3do version.  I have the PC/DOS version.

Anyone know of something that fully emmulates DOS 6.1?

running it within VMWare player?

Haven't tried it...will look into it.

VMWare looks like it might work, but also looks like a large undertaking to setup.  I'll try that as a last resort.

create a bootable usb key, and try running it off of there ?
