The thread that wont die about the nicest gs ever ... ever

stuck-to-the-seat

This is strictly personal opinion of course but that is by far not the nicest gs ever. Maybe the most expensive? :thumb:

I agree with stuck-to-the-seat.  These are very unique show bikes, works of art of the finest imagination and craftsmanship, with untold hours of labor and huge cash invested, but I wouldn't want to ride either one more than a few miles.  This is how you get a bike pictured in magazines, not for riding.  When a bike goes through this it lives forever and dies at the same time.  It will forever be a work of art going from show to show but it will never again have significant miles put on it.  All practicality has been lost in the quest for unique beauty, and boy, did he ever succeed!

WOW! I actually love the look of this bike. Not sure the seat position would work for me but I really like everything else.

How much would it cost to purchase the front wheel, rear swing arm, rear wheel, and rear sets? (Shipped to the US?)

JEREMY JOCK

Are those mirrors on the handguards?!? I WANT.

How much shipped to the US?

Jim Knopf

servus,

@Jeremy Jock and cboling: You have pn.

Jim Knopf

servus,

now its nearly winter in Germany, tooltime in garage of jim.

the new frontend is arriving. now a little modifying and it will works in the gs.

The Buddha

Yes girder ... more precisely a durfee style girder. Heavy as a pig, wont take a disk brake without some mods, but is rake adjustable by making just a pair of dogbones. Longer = more rake. Simple.
But well ... on my savage with the extra weight and the extra rake and what not it would have handled like a  ... well a tank ...
Cool.

tt_four

My favorite base bikes for a project bike. Someday I'm hoping to find a beat up 750 for about $500 to see what I can come up with.

What ever happened with that gs with the red tank and orange wheels? I was looking forward to that one.
