Can someone provide some kind of how to or share tips & advice so that I might potentially be able to adjust the valves on my bike?  I was quoted about $140-$180 to do the valves on my bike at a nearby shop, but I would (A) rather learn something and (B) make sure the job is done right.

Is this a bit much for me to do on my own?  I have yet to even disassemble and clean/resync the carbs myself.

JohnLA your knowledge again would be much appreciated

Buy a shop manual (click the blue Buy a Repair Manual link above).

Regarding the link miket posted (thanks mike!): You shouldn't need to remove the airfilter or the camchain tensioner. Just to make it easier for you.

Dude! I'm almost done with a complete porting and polishing of my '94's head. It is pretty easy so far. Proplem is the chump at the Suzuki dealer only ordered me 1 ring pack. I asked for a set of rings!  Couldn't he meet me half way and figure out that I's a twin?

If you want to read how it went my first time do a search fror my "carbs,  valves, emmisions ?" thread.

Since doing the job I have bought the Motion Pro tool so that next time I won't have to fuss with the timeing chain.
