I'm looking for a spare brake and clutch lever. I don't need the whole setup, I just need the silver parts that you actually grab. I don't need the resevior or the parts that hold the levers onto the bars.

As I've complained about a number of times before.... I keep my bike in my basement and it's a hassle to squeeze it in and out through the basement door every time I want to ride. The problem isn't actually the handlebars, but it's the levers, which stick out wider than my bars. I'm looking to get an extra set so I can cut them down and file them smooth to make some shorter levers. I'd do it to the ones I already have but I feel like they won't pass inspection without those little balls on the ends, so I need to get a second set so I can still keep one set to make sure I pass inspection.

I don't care if they're bent(to a point), scratched, painted, whatever, they just need to work. Let me know what you have and how much you'd like for them! I also have some some spare GS parts if you need something and want to trade. Let me know!

Thanks!

and just for reference, these are the parts I'm looking for, random picture from google...

I believe I have a slightly bent of each. was going to throw them away. Would have to search not quite sure where exactly they are after the move but hey help with shipping and they are yours.

instead of cutting them down, why dont you just take the ones you have and bend them until they are the width you need them to be? Kind of like you see a lot of bikes that are dropped at lights have their levers but of course you are doing it intentionally. Or buy a set of shortie brake levers

That's a consideration. Even easier would just be finding a beat up old pair that someone already bent for me! I think the main reason I'll probably cut them down is because I can cut them, file them down and still make them look nice, I've seen some done pretty nicely. If I just bend my levers, and am lucky enough to not snap them in the process, they'll still just look like bent up levers(at the time that I'm trying to actually fix my bike up), plus I'm not sure exactly how much clearance I'll need to make it out the door easily. If I cut them down, I always have the option to take off another half inch and file them down again so I can make sure to get them as long as possible while I can still get them through the door easily.

If I put enough effort into it, I may be able to cut them nicely, use a grinder to make the tip concave, drill and tap a little hole and just screw/jbweld the ball back on there. I wouldn't be able to put much force on the tip, but it would still look nice, and pass as legal if the place I take it for inspection is picky enough to care about the tip.
