It does start without choke most of the time temp around at temp 30 and the bike  is parked  it in an open air parking lot too.

OK, you're saying that your bike starts up fine with no choke in 25F weather.

I think it's safe to say you're running a bit rich.

If you're rich, you can wash the oil off the walls ... and get plug fouling ...
However you cannot lean it if you're doing short rides only.
Top to bottom of dip stick is ~1/2 qt. 2K and 1/2 qt is nothing ... I'd just try to run it longer.
BTW you charging the battery with the extra 100W draw and short rides ?
Cool.

Yeah, that sounds a bit gassy  :D

What's your carb jet size / needle shim setup, intake and exhaust setup on your bike? I'm wondering if you're jetted rich or if you're pulling gas through the vacuum line.

my friends driving behind my bike noticed excess black smoke coming out of bike and the the left plug to be more oil fouled than the right one.Earlier there was leakage from cylinder head and I could not make out if engine was burning oil or was due to leakage but after fixing the leakage with new gasket the loss of oil seems to be negligible.

ya, you're rich. like dumping-gas-out-the-pipe rich.

i thought 1/2 a quart or 1 full quart between changes was a good thing ? ;)

Blue is oil ... black is rich, white is really really rich.
Floats is the first stop IMHO.

tonight the bike just wold not start, low oil pressure light was flickering and sometimes the light would go out.Does the bike start up only when low oil pressure light is on?.checked the spark plug the left one was oil but the right one looked alright.would the bike start with only one spark plug working.Drained the battery trying to start, should pick the bike from school in morning.First time GS left me stranded..........girlfriend was mad

Not sure what your problem is but the oil pressure light has nothing to do with starting, it just senses oil pressure.  If that light does not go out with the engine running, shut the engine off immediately to prevent damage.  I hope you get your problems sorted out so you can enjoy the bike   :thumb:

the spark plugs need to be changed every 200 miles and photos of the condition of the sparkplugs just replaced.......how badly would the rich mixture  affect the cylinder wall  by the carbon deposit.
