Would anyone like to do something justifiable but somewhat ethically wrong?

My favorite way to screw eBay deadbeats..

If paypal OKs a return for refund. send them an empty box or a brick with a tracking #. Once you show paypal the tracking # was delivered they will issue a refund no matter what you put in the box  :icon_mrgreen:

I won an auction a few months back for a lot of 5 laptops.. I got 2 !!!  Guy said basicly go screw myself.. I filed a claim, got a return auth. and sent him an old broken Tandy laptop and a old brick style cell phone =) Kept the 2 laptops he did send out of the 5

Got my refund as soon as I showed it was delivered.  :thumb:

Apparently PayPal won't back me right away...they say since it was not purchased through eBay that they'll not cover the loss.

Pisses me off even more because the seller INSISTED that I send straight payment outside of eBay when I asked them to add a buy-it-now.  I really should have known, but it's going to come back on them.

I think I can get PayPal to work for me here...but I would still love it if someone would do the switch-a-roo described above.  It'd serve them right to get the burn there.

One thing that sucks is their auction says NO RETURNS  If someone goes in on this deal 2 of you may get screwed  :o

no, just I get the shaft...if the "helper" gets bit, I'll cover it.  Some out there deny it, but I'm a stand-up guy...plus, too many of you know where I live.

However, a purchase through eBay with PayPal...it doesn't matter what the seller says they'll do about returns.  PayPal is real screwy about outside purchases, but I can tell you without a doubt that they'll spin that shaZam! back on the seller in a heartbeat if it's through eBay.  I was recently there with some parts I sold...UPS lost them and it was taking too long to get the insurance cash in.  Buyer had to draw up a not-as-described claim something like thirty days after a no-receipt claim and PayPal had no issues pulling that out of my pocket.  Lesson was...over insure everything you ship with UPS.

SS, since it was purchased outside of eBay, PayPal only guarantees delivery.  It doesn't matter what was delivered, but if something was delivered, their standard policy leaves the buyer screwed.  I can usually get them to cooperate, but it takes time.

I'm in and I know you're good for it, mailing the crap back and forth man, that could add up. But PM/email if I am the one.
BTW someone in east TX should be a better accomplice really. We could easy drop 20 shipping you to me and back.
What if the guy replaces it and not refund ?

I'll hit you up later tonight...gotta put the irritation and hardships aside for some family time.  I love family time.

Eventually paypal will catch on and wait for the seller to say the item was in the box. If you fill the box with a pound of anthrax at least you'll know you're covered. hmm... or scorpions, that sounds like more fun

The Buddha

Missed 2 of em dude ... I hate ebay for this specific reason, You have to be on and watch it all the time ... or be prepared to pay whatever ... it is sniped, shilled etc etc crap.
I dunno, I can try more times, but lemme know.

SS...ya know I gave up on trying to scam my money back out of that guy...turn the other cheek kind of thing...but wouldn't you know it if I haven't received TWO more, from other sellers, all boxed similarly, broken?!

The Buddha

I have quit buying stuff from people not in front of me on account of getting stiffed ...

I think its a sad state for the world ...

BTW the other new scam I have noticed is chinese companies now want prepaid ... like escrowed $ before they would make/sell you stuff.

I came across this guy selling stuff out of a gas station ... apparently he got a shipment of steering wheels that were like the old school momo knock off's ... turns out they were too slippery for you to grip em and they felt a little like they were made of sand ... and he was unable to sell em.

So this thing you're buying, breaks all the time ? or is it that many scammers out there ?

Cool.

First was a scam...second was faulty and the guy promply refunded my money and took it back.  This last one was packed poorly and it looks like fed ex may have slid the box into the corner of something harder.
