Hey all,

I just bought a new 09' GS500f and will be riding it outside in all kinds of wet and nasty weather. Just a quick question. My bike is black, What protectant/cleaner would you all recommend for the black plastic that won't scratch it up? I have heard armorall works well but don't know about that.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Doug

I dont have fairings as i have the E model. But i would thinnk that you could use car was on the plastics. Check with someone with a gs500F though.

Plexus is recommended by a lot of people on plastic parts, including windscreen, face shield, and painted plastics. I use it too.

Plexus or I use Meguiar's Ultimate Detailer, both on everything.

Do you use Plexus on painted metal, like the tank? What about unpainted metal, like the chrome handlebar? I wasn't sure if that's ok or not.

I use a decent car wax on the plastics and metal. I have used Plexus as well but the smell of that stuff makes me sick, I feel like I'm doing damage to myself :icon_eek: The Maquires is good stuff as well and you can use it on everything. It's quick and easy and seems to stay on there after awhile.
