What did you wake up to???

I haven't seen this much snow in Baltimore in a while.  After having to look at the Snowflake of Death graphic in the corner of the local TV station's prime time shows for the last few days I'm glad the storm wasn't all hype this time.  Now that I'm done shoveling I can watch wall to wall coverage of each snowflake for the next 2 days.  And just in case you don't buy into all that fancy Doppler radar stuff the meteorologist at the studio has been showing off they have Dik Loser reporting live from some random street corner to prove the snow is real.

The view when I awoke

Hopefully my neighbors get off their asses and shovel their part of the alley before Monday

After a few hours of shoveling

Under that pile of snow is an old Camaro that wont be seeing the light of day for a while

Whoa!  The last time I woke up to that much snow was near Chattanooga, 1991 or 1992.

Today I woke up to a partly cloudy, 50°F day.

So I take it you're going to be going out for a ride? hahha just kidding. I haven't ever seen snow like that..except for once in '93 I believe it was when it snowed like crazy. I think we got like 3 inches. We called it a blizzard. hahahah..this is in middle GA.

The only part of any of the cars in our driveway we could see was the mirrors. The pine trees were so weighted down with snow that they were laying ON the snow in the driveway.

On the bright side, the main roads look okay! :)

I live in Levittown Pa.  I was supposed to wake up looking out the window at the Las Vegas strip, but my flight was cancelled.  So I woke up looking at the same mess you did.

Hi everyone,
Here in Lancaster, PA, we got 18 inches of snow and up to 24 inches in parts of Lancaster County. Nearby, Philly was hit with 28 inches.
It's gorgeous, but I look at my lovely GS500 in my garage and think how much I miss riding. :)
Spring is not far away. That's what keeps me going. :)
Fe careful out there.
Yours,

All of these pictures were taken before the storm ended.  The roads still pretty much look like that.

Good thing I still had the gas I drained out the GS sitting around.  I needed it for the snow blower!  On the bright side, I signed up for the first March Basic Rider Course at HCCC :thumb:

I'm wondering how much snow they got in Bedford, PA.  The picture below was taken a few weeks ago.  I stuck some 2x4's up to give the porch extra support in case of a heavy snow.  The 1/2 a Camaro on the side of the house is actually a zoning requirement in Appalachia

That's my lady's Dodge Caliber.

I found my car! Average height of the snow was above my knees.

I'll throw my hat into the game!

Driving out to get a new belt for my snow blower early this morning (sun) was pretty hairy.  95 was cleared down to the blacktop in one lane and nothing else was; and I drive a nice light honda...

Digging my car out with a shovel so I could actually get out to get the belt was pretty miserable too...

Ahh.... that's lovely - quoting my wife. And I agree. For all I know the view from behind the camera is all industrial waste and such. But in front of the camera is my cup of tea.  :woohoo:

Thanks Michael, my grandfather built that house in the 1940's.  It sits near a reservoir that is the water supply for Cumberland, MD.  Originally it was built as a fishing cabin but it has had a few additions/renovations since then to make it more livable.  The view behind the camera is all mountains.  I would live there full time if there were decent paying jobs in that area.  At the moment I use it as a weekend retreat/vacation spot.

-Jessie

Behind the camera is just mountains

The reservoir(s), Koon Lake & Lake Gordon.  There are 2 dams which create 2 lakes in a row.  This is the upper one (Koon) that the house sits on.

My favorite view is when that porch is full of bikes
