I am damn sure I want to buy a GS500. I have been looking on craigslist and a few dealers around Denver for a good deal.

I found one which has <2000 miles and is a 2005 GS500F. Can you tell me if this is a good deal for $2500?

OK here I'll try what I have found.

Prices wildly vary, time of year to location to whatever even for identical bikes. In fact I think that bikes that start and run wihtout a hiccup when its 20 degrees deserve extra $ ... but no one else seems to think that way.

2500 for an 05 with 2K is OK in summer, but high in winter especially in denver. I'd however give you a wee bit of philosophical advice. Look for an older GS. All the way back to 1989 in fact. Cheaper is always better, and its not like these things die in 5 years or at 10K and they dont get to be more maintenance with more miles either, its how those miles have been put and how its been maintained in between that counts.

Like I was pretty much flogging mine, mine experienced no catastrophic failure that I didn't ignore, neglect or fix up wrong the day before. Got 48K before selling it.
Really, I'd set my target price lower, year older and miles - dont worry about it unless its over 20K ... of course compare apples to apples, a 10K miler is better than a identical 20K miler of course.

Thanks guys. I got it for $1900 today. It runs great. Nothing is wrong with it. But the funny thing is I lost my I-94 document (essential for an international student in the US for obtaining a license).

I replaced the battery. That is it. I guess I will start riding it in April. For now thats the update. I will need some tips to maintain it soon. I'll get back to it.
