This one is for all you racers, what size CR's have you run on your bike and how did they work. I know guys with EX's run 37mm and 39mm I figure the GS would take the same, anyone know what size Sudco recommends?

KevinC

I talked to SUDCO about them once, and I believe they recommended 35's, even with fairly substantial engine mods.

Bob B. is running FCR's, which would be better carbs I believe. SUDCO doesn't have a listing for FCRs for the GS.

Well, I for one, just discovered that the left-hand butterfly shaft is scored as well as the shaft bore in the left carburetor. Makes for a stiff throttle. I had to use a little more muscle at the throttle and then it would 'give' right off of idle. I couldn't 'roll' on smoothly. I greased the shaft and the bore, but that is only a temporary fix. Eventually, I will need a new left carb or set of carbs.

I dunno. The shaft and bore is pretty well sealed. You can see the circlip on the right...doh, I just realized it's the right-hand carb (goes back to edit previous post...nah). Anyway, it's right behind that, there's a little plastic washer over a felt o-ring. Maybe greasing the felt might have prevented this from the outside.

nah what i was referring to, if a larger bore carb could be put on and say "dialed in within a days time", if not practical, would it be more effective to work with the jetting?, cause i was also told by the local shops that putting in larger carbs would be a P.I.T.A, jetting more practical? :?
