Does anyone know if Bob Brousard still does the mod on the ignition advancer. i have emailed him and he has not answered. Just wondered if anyone has had it done recently. Is there anywhere else you can have it done?

I think I recently read he still makes them for the older bikes but not the newer ones. either way its very easy to do your own advance

The mascot of the GS500.. The creature that's got the biggest ugliest a$$ of them all.
A wombat. It's got a big ugly a$$ too.

Ok How do you do it. Is there a how to sticky or something like that. I have searched it a lot I didn't just make a thread. I don't want to be that guy but all that comes up is Bob's name.

I read that you can't do it yourself on a 2007

Yes you can, i did it my self on my 07  :thumb: the steps below will work on any gs500 ever made.

1: remove rotor cover
2: remove rotor
3: remove pick-up coil
4: remove plate
5: slot the plate mounting holes so the plate can be rotated 4mm counterclockwise (4mm = 5*, counter clockwise=advance)
6: re-mount plate in new position
7: reassemble every thing else.

very easy, took me 20 min. or so and I had never done it before. you will need a drill/dremmel/rotozip to slot the holes, a file will work too but it would be slow.

Also where in the heck can I get a Vance and Hines exhaust system for our year bike? I see the for earlier years. Will it still fit and is it that much better than a jardine?

O.C.D.

Fits all years and they are $.  I have never heard a Jardine, but I absolutely love the V&H.  I get more compliments on that than anything.

Sorry to bump a dead thread, but I have emailed him as well with no response.  Does anyone know if his email address has changed?

007brendan

I emailed him a few months ago, he said he still does the mods.
