I have a 2007 Gs500f. I see that a lot of peple have the Vh system. I can only find the one that says it fits the early models. I have spoken with people I trust though who swear it fits the later models. My question is does the bike have to be naked. How are all these F owners using this exhaust if so. Thanks very much. How much better is this exhaust compared to a jardine?

it will fit. you'll have to drop off your centerstand (suck) and it will be loud (suck) and you'll think you need to rejet (double suck), and then you'll want something louder, and someone to make it ride like it did when it was stock (suck +1000)

think of it as a fancy, shiny sewer pipe. sure, if your shaZam! pipes (house/apt/whatever) were above ground, everyone would bling them out. but they're underground, and no one cares if they're cheap pvc.

it's just a route to let the burnt stuff vent to the atmosphere. :)

i'd prefer stock pipes on mine after all this time. quieter is better in my book.

yes, it's about the same (deeper, quieter) as the jardine. yes, you'll have to repaint it once a year. yes, you'll swear it's a dumb design that means you have to drop it in order to change your oil.

yes, you'll miss your centerstand.

:)

nothing much. changed the batteries, updated the air in the tires to the latest trend, oh, and oil. i have a gallon of oil waiting in the back of the truck.

;)

just a flyscreen and 89 clipons, that are coming off tomorrow. putting the comfy gs stock bars back on. and selling the flyscreen. it looks cool, but summer is coming. ;)

Don't know much about the Vance and Hines but i have to the Yoshimura TRS slip-on and i think it sounds fantastic. i took the volume insert out and ya it is decently loud but its nice to have that option on the Yosh (the low volume insert that is).  i would imagine the vance and hines would sound similar, the yosh might be louder i really dont know :dunno_black: it all depends on if you want your bike louder and ALOT deeper sounding, i personally love the sound..oh and with the yosh it uses stock headers and pipe up until the mid pipe which makes the oil changes just as easy as they were because it's the stock pipe  :thumb: lol
here's a video of my bike with the yosh
