So I accidentally turned the engine over a bit while the tensioner was removed, because I can't follow instructions  :cookoo:
What would be the best way to set the timing back to stock? I read http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=34512.0, but I'm not really sure what he means by that.

Cheers.

Start with a Factory Service Manual.  Search the forum for a link.

Then take a look at this for some pictures:

Good luck.
Keep adding to the carb jet matrix!

Thank you so much, those photos are perfect. I'll get on this in the morning and post when successful.

Also, it would be nice if you could mark threads as "resolved." Oh well.

I did the timing on my bike last year following a rebuild. It was surprisingly easy once I figured everything out...isn't that always the case? :)

What I would suggest is take your time and count the pins 10x to make absolutely certain you have it right.

You can turn it without the tensioner, You wont lost timing unless you do a lot of it. Forwards actually is prefctly OK.
In fact gravity works like a tensioner if you can imagine what a chain will do when its loose and hanging vetically.
Cool.

Buddha, you were right. I just checked the timing, which was really quick and easy, and it was spot on. 18 pins. I love when things work out  :D

Thanks for the help, guys.
