Feels like a whole new bike.

Just finished patching up my bike after a decent overhaul. Items upgraded/modified include:

0.90kg/mm Sonic Springs

Vortex Clip-Ons

15T front sprocket

and new pads chain and rear sprocket.

To get the clip-ons to fit I just slid the forks up above the triple clamp. Someone else had previously mentioned that if you are throwing stiffer springs on to the bike you can do this without hurting ride dynamics very much, nor will you be likely to bottom out in a hard stop. Total time took me about 9 solid hours, with a friend to help me. In actuality it took us about 12, but we had to go and pick up a chain press from a friend across town and blew off some time eating and such.

I got to go and ride it for a bit when I was all said and done. I swear it is like a whole new bike. Just the springs and clip-ons make the bike feel rock solid through the turns. The bike just seems more stable. I may just be getting a temporary placebo affect, however when I ride with the CO Sportbike Club again I'll know for sure. I am just thrilled with my girl's rebirth. I really didn't notice a difference between the 15T and the 16T front sprocket. However I didn't really get to rap it out that much. My clutch cable got weird on me when I put the new bars on so I was having a hard time getting the engine to engage off the line properly. I'll fix that tomorrow. For now I'm just happy with all that I got done. My verdict is that one should do these upgrades before anything else. You will see a tenfold improvement.

Hey, I have new springs and clipons as well, and I definitely remember feeling a big difference. The front end is a lot more stable with clipons than normal bars. That goes for just about any bike. I remember being able to move the stock bars back and forth and send the bike into a manaully induced speed wobble(for no real reason, it was just fun to do), but that doesn't happen with the clipons.

The best option for your clutch cable is to re-route it on the opposite side of your headtube. Right now it goes from the clutch lever, in through the hole on the left side of your frame. You want to remove it from either the lever or the engine, run it through that same hole only on the RIGHT side of your frame and reconnect/readjust it. I did the same for my throttle cable.
