Well I'm back from my pre-deployment training last week and get the word that my deployment date has shifted.  So I get to stick around for a couple of months before I go anywhere.  The weather was nice this past weekend so I decided to take the bike out to do a little riding.  The bike was tucked away in my garage since the beginning of January for what I thought would be the duration of my deployment.  So I put gas in the tank, take the battery off of the battery tender and install it back in the bike.  I try to start it and it won't turn over.  I try again and the battery winds down till I hear click, click, click, click.  WTF...the battery is dead.  How can this be?  It was on the battery tender.

As it turns out, my brother in-law came over to do some things around the house while I was gone (that was very nice of him) and he needed a power strip.  The power strip I was using in the garage was handy enough so he unplugs the things hooked up to it (including the battery tender), uses the power strip, then plugs everything back in.  So far so good except for one thing.  He left the power strip off.

After a few hours on a battery charger I was able to get on the road.  All is well that ends well.

Hey Arty,

Didn't know you were back or I would have invited you on our ride last Sunday.  Then again, maybe it's a good thing you weren't there...

I would have had a hard time keeping up.  Thats ok.  I was able to ride for a couple of hour in the late afternoon and ride into the office this week (except today).  I'll be around till the end of next month so let me know when you go out again.
