I'd like to see this bike finally finished.

That does look really good. If it was me, I would try to make the exhaust a little longer, and leave just enough tip to direct the air out towards the side. That's just an opinion though, I've never been crazy about that much pipe after the exhaust, or even really short exhausts for the matter. Looks good either way though.

I have a disdain for advertising. The Suzuki "S" is a nicely understated thing. The word "Suzuki" turns it into an ad. *I* preferred the blue tank when it was sans ads. But if you like the word across the tank then it's all good.

I had the tire mounted friday.  I should be making some progress now!

cosmiccharlie

Making a little progress.  When I was about to mount the rear wheel I realized i had lost the spacer that goes between the wheel and brake caliper bracket.   :dunno_black:  I ordered a new one and few other misc parts as well as a rear swingarm stand.

In the meantime, I removed the monster exhaust and started cutting up one of the cans to see if it would be possible to shorten it and use it under the bike.  I think it will work.  I'll try to get some pics this week.  The bike looks much better without those huge mufflers on the side.  Not sure what I was thinking back then!   :cookoo:

Anything can be cut shorter. It just helps if you have the tools to put it back together right.

HAHA!  There are some cool bikes there and some good ideas.  Still true to gstwin though!

Forgot to post the picture of the cut down duc can here.
Too short?  I still need to get some muffler packing and a piece of 1 5/8 perforated pipe.

vinny5

verrrrryyyyy cool have any pictures of the progress as of recently?  I reallly like the idea of the ducati muffler and that is definitely not too short, is it alot louder cut down like that though?

cosmiccharlie

Took some pics of how she sits right now.  Very dirty and not close to being finished.  I am waiting on a swingarm stand that I ordered so I can replace a spacer on the rear axle that was bent and adjust the tension on the chain.  Should have the muffler finished up and on the bike soon too.  Can't wait to hear it!

That looks badass like that and probably sounds like a beast.  :thumb: Who needs a muffler.

That's right, it's so hot it hurts!   :o

Inspired by O.C.D. comparision pic.  Can't even tell it is the same bike execpt for the dent in the frame.

So where are your controls?  Are you guessing the speed and rpm's?  Need input.

Oh, and like mine, the before and after makes you want to cringe because you know how much money you spent on a $700 bike, lol.  :2guns:

Haha, I bet he is, all the while he's guessing at what his headlights would be showing him when he's riding in the dark.  :thumb:

You guys really make me want to swap my front end because it's the only thing left that dates my bike back to 1990 now that I've changed the tank and tail, but I really can't bring myself to spend that kinda money like you guys have. Too many things need worked on in the house to use the "well I just need a project" excuse. I saw somewhere that the gsxr750s had the same size bearings as the gs though, and if that's true, and I could make a front end swap with nothing more than getting a spacer made to go under the top tripe, I might consider it, especially because I should be able to find a 1990-95 front end way cheaper than you guys spend on your 2000+ front ends.

I don't need any gauges or headlights!   :icon_mrgreen:

It's not quite streetable yet.  Not even registered.  Soon though.

HAHA!  So true.  I still don't feel like I have too much money in it.....yet!
