Later bikes (2001 up) have a larger tank (20 l .vs. 17 l). Riding style (vroom .vs. putter) and setup (sprockets, jets&pipes, etc.) make a difference as does proper valve adjustment.

With the older, smaller tank, 150 miles to reserve, usually - reserve is not overly reliable (there's a gallon there, but you won't get all that gallon out due to the tank shape). Or about 240 km. I try to limit riding on reserve to 25 miles or less or 40 km. For me, the larger tank would add about 35-40 miles to range (call it 60 km).

From memory, i use to get around 320km - 340km before hitting the reserve.

I have a stock standard GS, I get 400 to 410kms before hitting the reserve, the most I have gone on res is 70kms. I dont 'race' and most of my riding is motorway, [gear up to 100kmh then sit there].

The lowest I got was 330. The highest was 360. But I've gone plenty of 340s and 350s before figuring it was time to fill up, only to discover I only put in about 14 liters - around 6 left in the tank.

I usually tank up around 300-330 clicks and put in around 12 to 13 liters each time. I don't wait until I hit reserve to tank up any more. I did that just so I'd have an idea on how far I could go before hitting it.

Bike is stock K9.

I get about 360km before hitting reserve without being nice to the bike, which uses about 14L so 3.75L/100km. If I ride sensibly (ha!) I average 3.3 to 3.5L\100km. If I do all highway cruising I get between 2.6 and 3L/100km or 460-540kms

Miraz

Lowest is 260km  but typically around 350km...

How long you hold each gear will change fuel consumption; how hard you twist the throttle will change it; how heavy you and your gear are; how much wind you ride into; how high you fill the tank - and also side stand or center stand. All play their parts in increasing/decreasing distance between refuels.

For instance: I fill up on the centre stand. I fill to it starts coming up the neck - then - take it to the next highest dollar of half dollar. So if I hit 63cents, I slow fill until it hits the whole dollar. I'll end up putting in more fuel this way than if it hits the beck at 88cents. That extra fuel gives extra range.

Commuting I don't get above 6k rpm. Parts sit around 4k, but mostly it's 5k and steady - be it 5th or 6th. I also don't zoom zoom off. An easy take off still leaves cars behind.
