Does anyone know where I can find the diagram for the gauges and indicators??
I am looking to replace the stock one with KOSO RX2 gauges.

But I can't find the electric diagram for GS500 instrument harness... Any help would be appreciated!!

Also, I have a 1995 GS500 with only 6K on it and everything still factory (even the tires!!!). Here's the list of upgrades I'm planning. Let me know what you think!
KOSO gauges
Pirelli Sport Demon tires
Katana 600 Shock
Progressive Springs W/15w Oil
Clubman bar
New pipe... but don't know what's a good and easy to install.
Possibly replacing valve gaskets... oil is dripping a drop a day from god know where.

1990 GS500EL - with moderately-ugly paintjob.
1982 XJ650LJ -  off the road for slow repairs
AGATT - All Gear All The Time

Thank you very much!!! Now I just have to figure out how exactly am I going to do this.  :icon_rolleyes:

The Cable Guy

Any luck getting this thing installed properly? I'm thinking about doing something like this myself as well.

i would think this would not work, with the pre 2001 GS's being an analog tach, so it would have to measure rpm's another way.

KOSO has an analog to digital converter for their gauges. I was going to get one of these a few years agao but couldn't justify the $$$.

I thought digital tachs got their RPM reading fromthe spark plug coils... Correct me if i'm wrong. So it will work on any bike.

If you look at some of the project logs on here you will see people plugging up there mechanical tacho ports.

Conoral11

O.C.D.

Plug up the tach hole with an O2 bung plug.

And the signal is attached to the coil for the digital speedos.  I am doing this as we speak and thanks to Psyber, I added a resistor to level out the signal.

The mascot of the GS500.. The creature that's got the biggest ugliest a$$ of them all.
A wombat. It's got a big ugly a$$ too.

hot damn, let me know how it turns out then. I'd be interested. Imagine that with a full fairing. http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/suzuz/GS500Titan.htm

That is one of the UGLIEST fairing I have ever seen. The lines don't even line up with the frame.

burnymcstalls

present a fairing that isn't as ugly as the one in question then.

Sorry guys... Totally forgot about to check this post. I ordered the RX-2, it does look sweet, but I thought RX-2N would look a lot better on a naked GS... so I returned it and STILL waiting for the RX-2N to be in stock...  :technical:

According to the instruction, it comes with a sensor wire that wraps around the coil/cable... But I didn't really look at the wiring mess before I sent it back. But YES, it should work on GS.

do a 'search'

I don't think it's all that bad. I mean for $600 you've gotta be kidding kidding me, but if I had no idea how much one cost and I saw one on someones bike I think I'd give them a compliment. The stock headlight would look a little ugly, but I understand why they cut it so you could still use it. Plus you can always get the one with no holes and then put in whatever lights you wanted.

seamax

$600 is crazy money for that outdated kit. You can get a R6, Gixxer, etc tail and front fairing and mod it to fit the GS like alot of us have done for much cheaper.

tt_four

Someone put an 04 gsxr tail and cowl on craigslist last night for $50. I normally would've jumped on it for the GS, but I'm trying to save up for some other stuff. Some people prefer to not be creative and would rather just pay for something that bolts on though.

lol did we threadjack much? Let us know when the 2N comes in
