Let this be a leason kids...

Even if the idiot has the red, and you have the green, make sure he's gonna stop before you pull into an intersection.

Far to many people I know have the 'I'm bigger than him, he'll get outta the way' mentality. Fvcking cagers...  :guns:

Heather (talking into her cell phone):  "Muffy, I gotta hang up now.  I just had a little accident.  I'll call you right back"... :x

Maybe that's what happened...   More likely, judging by the shadows, the cager was looking directly into a late afternoon sun.  Still no excuse, though!  Let's hope the rider wasn't injured too badly...

Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

lesson here, red lights mean stop, stop does not mean Squeal Tires On Pavement cagers or riders either one, even if your state has a red light running rule (for mc,), like mine, if you get into a wreck, your fault.
now, if sun was issue, either visors, or if not working, sunglasses, etc, point is, no matter how many wheels you have beneath you, your eyes are your most important asset. use them. btw, that opel was a wee bit heavy on the go pedal eh?

I think he pulled a JohnNLA (sorry dude).

Notice the jeep parked in the direction the bike came from? I think the bike ran the red and got nailed by the car.

James to me-  it looks like the opel ran it..... The light proabbly just changed and the bike caught the green light rolling most likely...(my opinion...)...

That sure does look painful....

The real question is was he riding a GS500?

JLKasper

Not likely a GS; the front wheel appears spoked, with a small disc or drum brake.  It's more likely a GN Suzuki, or a Honda Rebel/Nighthawk 250.  Since it appears to be a "learner bike", could rider inexperience have contributed to this accident (timing the green light, etc.?).

ok now, let's fiugre out what bike this is...i see that some people are like inspectors, trying to figure out what happend, so i think it's be easy for you to figure out the make of the bike

The jerkoff in the car just hit a motorcyclist and still doesn't have both hands on the wheel. Should show that picture to his insurance company.
The cherokee sitting there leads me to believe the cyclist jumped the gun on the green, or it blocked his view.

Quote from: Blueknytjudgen by the amount of smoke from all 4 wheels. opel was boogieing
The Opel was "boogieing" alright, but I don't think the smoke is coming from all 4 wheels.  In fact, the rear wheels look they're off the ground!  The shadow under the right rear tire is deceiving.

Draw an imaginary line from the center of the rear hubcap to the center of the front one.  Lay another imaginary line on the road surface in the car's direction of travel.  If all four wheels were on the road those 2 lines would be nearly parallel, yes?  (Don't let the angle that the car body is at throw you off - it should be tilted forward because of the stop.)

It looks to me like the first imaginary line points into the ground in front of the car.  But I dunno - am I just seeing what I want to see?  :dunno:

i don't even worry about going on green around here(even in my car).  I've seen more red runners in the last six months back here in Charlestow(Dontown, N. chas., and west ash.), than I saw in two years in Fort Worth, much less in Charlotte.  Part of the prob. here is how short the yellow is, I've gotten to where if it is close, I go for it on the bike so I don't catch it in the a$$.  If(around here), we went back to a reasonable yellow and used serious traffic enforcement(cameras if necc. but I really don't like them), outside of the idiots, most of this would be taken care of.  If you do the homework, in the US, the yellow has been shortened in the last several years, causing many drivers to enter the intersection under red.  I'm not trying to defend anyone, but if I had enough room to stop(in front and esp. BEHIND), I would, just to make sure nobody was hurt.   At some point this may have to be explained to the general populace as money(insurance prem.), but it would be a start in the US(where most enforcment is for money), and hopefully for the rest of the world.

i hate those drivers...my mom was injured in a accident with a driver who did the same thing (ran the red light)
i almost had the same thing happend to me when i was waiting at the light of a small highway (speed limit 80 km/h) and when it turned on green for me, i took a little more time to step on the gas and start moving, to my luck i did start slow....a woman in grand prix went straight throgh red almost hiting my car....if i started moving my car right when it turned green for me, i would of been really hurt  :guns:

glenn9171

The cage obviously had the red light.  That's why the picture was taken.  Automated camera to catch people running red lights.   People assume the Jeep was stopped, but he is kinda far over to his left.  Maybe he was moving and went that way to avoid the bike and/or rider.

Lerxst

New theory... the bike was stopped at the red and the Opel plowed into him from behind.

1)  The Jeep doesn't appear to be moving, otherwise the nose of the car would be diving under braking to avoid the accident.

2) The bike can't be coming from the other direction cuz the Opel hasn't gone that far yet.

3) I would imagine that is how a bike would react being hit from behind.

That's why I ALWAYS watch my mirrors at an intersection.
I broke it... I bought it...

snapper

If you look at the pic the car obviously had the red light.  Look at it!  But he is also driving into the sun, look at the glare on the road.  The jeep is probably preparing to take a left beyond the highway.  That would account for his location.

Boils down to being paranoid can be healthy!  I check both ways even when I have a green.  I trust No One!

Good gad... did the guy live through that?

Let me try this again...       The bike was stopped at the red light.  The Opel plowed into him from behind and pushed them both into the intersection, triggering the camera.
