I'm looking at gettting a small GIVI topcase, the E26N. It is the second smallest case they make at 26L. I just got a new job in a new city and it looks like i'm going to be able to commute on my gs500 (horray!). I need to be able to carry my laptop and my hardhat to work and i don't really want to use a backpack since its about a 30 minute ride. Plus I'd like to be able to store my jacket and gear with the bike when I get to work (I don't need to put my helmet in the case).

I'm trying to find a rack to use with this case and the only one I can find is the MOTECH rack. I was wondering if I could get some opinions about the rack? I've read some things that say its like a diving board. Is this truly the case or were these people just putting huge loads on the rack? Like I said I'm getting a small case just to carry a few things. Will this rack work for me or are there some other better options?
