Such a shame this map link doesn't work.  I see some posts about people trying to start a new one, but this could lead to multiple ones and people then not bothering with this excellent idea.

So is there a final and approved new web-map thingy, perhaps endorsed by one of the moderators?

Worm

I decided to create and new map since Frappr doesn't seem to be working. Let me know if you all are able to add yourselves to it. I'm not sure it will work but lets give it a try!

Google is a good idea, because it is such a giant now I'd be surprised if one day maps disappear.

How do you map yourself?  I don't see how to do it.  There's no pin anywhere in the view I have, so does it involve signing up in google I wonder?  Is there no public way to do it, so we don't need to sign up?

Cheers!

First off, I'm pretty sure you have to have a Google account (just realized that) and you must be signed in. In the left pane click the "Edit" button, find yourself on the map, then in the upper left corner of the map there should be three buttons. Click the one in the center that looks like an inverted raindrop. Then click on your location on the map and fill in the info for the marker you just put down.

Both of the above links seen to work.  I mapped on both.  If I can do it, a cave man can do it.

On the Zeemaps site you have to "unlock" the map.  Selection in on the upper right corner and the "password" is gstwin.   Several have mapped on Zeemaps already.  I don't know much about browsers and how these maps work with different ones.  I am using the Windows Internet Explorer that came with the PC.

We should pick one of these and go with it.

Keep the shiny side up,

I added myself to the first one, I'm not quite sure how to go about adding myself to the second. If we have to pick one, I say just go with the first since there's way more people on it already.

Worm

I added myself to the Zeemaps. Not many people on there near me!

Added self to ZeeMaps. You can add a picture as well during setup. :)

Added myself to both- Zeemaps was much more straightforward and doesn't involve making a user account.

Thus far no one is within 500 miles of where I'm at.

Contemplating the metaphysical with rationality is not far off from beating your head against a wall in efforts to discover what's on the other end- Using empirical science is like trying to figure out what's behind the wall by the sound of the thud.

adidasguy

Added myself to Zee.
Consider sending info to the Suzuki Owners Club. Get all Suzuki owners to map themselves. Even if not a GS500, they're still in the family.

shchuka

Added myself to Zee.  Interesting, me including, only 3 markers in the UK.
