That was, by far, the most user freindly step-by-step modification I've seen! Very well done!
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

 I was not expecting the martini thing!  That was hilarous.  Personally, I can't stand either gin or vermouth.  I am very much a vodka martini person  :dunno:

Great idea and how-to.

Maybe if you want to make it so that bike seat doesn't bulge so much, you can shave the seat foam down a bit.  It only looks different because we know how it looks stock :)

Yeah Iwas thinking you could shave the seat pad too. Good call on the bike seat cause raw gel pads are more expensive @$40.00 .
Great work - think i might try it.

That's some nice looking barware you have  :)

But seriously, very cool Mod!  I know I don't have the $$$ for a Corbin...

luke1645

so i would assume that this mod could be done on the older style seat too?
going fast isnt the problem, its the crashing and burning that hurts

raven

No reason why we couldn't do the same on the 89-97 models, and because the front of the seat ramps up we'd be able to hide the bump a bit better too...

I like the concept, but I reckon I'd shell out a little more for the straight gel so that there's less distortion. Need to get my vinyl replaced anyway (it just doesn't last when the previous owner leaves the bike sitting in the sun for a year...), so could always get it done at the same time and sava-da-monee...

Honda Polish! :thumb:

honestly I have no clue what he uses but Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish works magic on anything from bike paint to leather to helmets

Kudos!
That is one fine HowTo feature.
Sitting in the shed is a spare bike gel seat which I had been saving for a combination Karma Sutra 67/Yoga "Boat" position, but now you have me thinking....... ;)
We don't really know what we're doing and even when we do, it doesn't seem to help. Bono

I wash it now and then and use several different brushes to get to the tight spots.

I also use a spray called 'Protect All Polish, Wax and Treatment'. It's like the Honda spray mentioned above.

I also keep it covered.

:) Hey Oldsport,
I'm very interested in your gel seat mod, but the posted url does'nt work now.   Is there a way to repost it somehow?  I'd really like to see how to mod my seat as it's about to break my a.. if I don't to something.  The others who read it really praised the work you did on that mod.
Also I pm'd you but no answer so far.

John ;)

oldsport has only posted 4 times since November....   :(

I don't believe he even owns a GS anymore.  :o

So ... your best bet may be to send him an email.  (Please ask him to update this message thread!  :thumb: )
