I bought clipons for my 09 gs500f, I was wondering how you get the left handlebar grip off as it seems to be glued? Do I have to buy new grips...? Or is there a safe way to remove it? Thanks!!!!

You should be able to push it off, dont pull it will become tighter. you can also try twisting it to break the bond first. If that doesnt work use a hair dryer to melt the glue. The grip on my 07 came off just by twisting and pushing.

stick the straw from a can of wd-40 under it, and give a squirt.  then push it off, as it will act like a finger-trap. afterwards, wipes the inside of grip with a paper towel

I haven't done this, but if I was trying to get them off I would use a rubber mallet and something flat and plastic, like the flat top part of a plastic tent stake and gently tap it off.

I don't know anything about anything.  Follow suggestions found on the internet at your own risk.

your first choice, if you have access to one is an air compressor. Just blow some air under the grip and you can see it puff up ever so slightly like a balloon and you can slide it right off or on this way. There's a good chance it's not glued, and just stuck on there after so long. If it is actually glued you'll have to try to get creative, or else just end up cutting it off.

Just buy new grips....  Makes the bike look a bit nicer and they're very cheap.

Similar to the wd 40 idea. I used a screwdriver to lift the rubber and squirted some oil from an oil can in. came off easy as

0.95 Sonic springs front
07 Yamaha R6 rear shock
Stainless steel brake lines
Diablo Rosso II Tyres
89 handle bars front forks
Airbrush hugger
rear fender removed completely

then spray the inside with carb cleaner to remove the oil
or
just use carb cleaner and a screwdriver
insert a thin screwdriver between bar and grip
spray carb cleaner into opening
twist the screwdriver around the bar to loosen the glue
pull off grip
