Underseat storage mods

Thinking about doing this. Anyone have any pics or advice on the tire/suspension clearance?

I have a tank bag that I take sometimes, but I don't like to have to lug it with me everytime I get on. I don't want tail-bags or anything. I have a cargo-net for when I carry things that go under the cargo net. I know stuff under the seat gets wet and can fall out. I want to come up with a design that minimizes the stuff-falling-out factor.

I know I'll never be able to fit much under there, but I'd like to mod out enough room to get a can of tire slime and a hand pump under there, maybe a few extra tools and nicknacks.

There's not much room under there to spare, and the only way you might get more storage is if you cut up the undertail and reform it with a plastic welder to have a bigger space. It would look goofy from underneath though. The other thing I had always thought of, if you don't ride passengers, is cutting out some of the foam under the passenger seat as well as a piece of the plastic, and you'd have more space under there to store things. You'd most likely need to do something to keep the foam from collapsing and looking goofy, whether you put something on the foam to harden it, or whether you uncovered the seat, completely replaced the foam with a new piece you made in the same shape with sheet metal or fiberglass, and recovered it to look like a stock seat.
