Bouncing Tach @ Idle.. Please help.. Now with Video!

Jet, intake and exhaust specs below. Tach was bouncing and there was a little hiccup type sound while warming up, so I came out 2 full turns on the air screws.  This is my first screw adjustment.  Hiccup is now gone as well as the flat spot in my midrange, but the tach is still bouncing at idle.  Not a huge bounce mind you.  It's pretty much jumping a little from 1400 to 1600.  I have the idle around 1500.  Seems to want to stall when I drop it to 12-1300 as it's supposed to be.

Any thoughts or suggestions?  Maybe come out more on the screws?  Switch to 89 or 93 octane?

the octane will not help.  always use 87

Did you redline it lately? Or even better, could you associate the beginning of these problems with a hard riding?

Maybe a leak around the intake boots?  Or something else causing the engine to run lean.  Why else would it need to idle so high?

ide bet on carbs needing cleaned and/or a vaccum leak.also check plugs. most problems are mantinance related.

.Carbs were cleaned when I did the rejet and again yesterday when I pulled them to get the bung off the air screws. I never redline it or ride it hard. It's not a toy. Plugs are new this season.

i've noticed my bike idiling higher at stop lights after i've been keeping the bike in its "power band" or in between 5 and 8k rpm's when i start to disengage or engage the clutch it'll drop back down to 1200 rpm, but if i pull it back in it'll climb back up to 3000 rpm am i doing anything wrong here?
Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

I've noticed other people around here have come out 3 turns on the air screws with the same setup I have. Could it simply be that I need to come out another turn?

riding between 5 and 8k is perfectly normal. I can't see how ir cold cause any problem....BUT, if your choke is pushed (even very slightly) or with a bad cable. It could do just what you described after the bike is hot...
