On the Aust Suzuki website is a recall for GS500 K6. The issue is the Rear Brake Disc Bolt Tension. The campaign number - maybe Aust only - is SRC06-5

If you have one (a K6) might pay to call a local dealer to see if this applies to your neck of the woods.

They didn't tighten the rear brake disc bolts enough?  Do I understand correctly?  If so I would just tighten them myself rather than leave it at the dealer so an 18-year-old can snap the bolts off then mar my wheels extracting the broken studs!
V&H pipes, K&N drop-in, seat by KnoPlace.com, 17/39 sprockets, matching grips, fenderectomy, short signals, new mirrors - 10 scariest words: "I'm here from the government and I'm here to help!"

K6 means 2006.

K6 = 2006
K7 = 2007
K8 = 2008
K9 = 2009

I'm not sure if the 2010 models are known as K10s. I haven't seen the dealer ads mention K10 like they used to mention K9.

The recall did Not specify any Country Codes. The notice was on the Australian Suzuki website - http://www.suzukimotorcycles.com.au/news/recall-service-campaigns/road.html. If you're concerned and you live outside of Australia, call a Suzuki Dealer and ASK them. It could just be an Aust thing as something went wrong in meeting Aust compliance, or it's an overall thing and they just want/need to check something to avoid litigation. If you own an 2006 model, or are thinking of buying one, make a quick call to a Suzuki Dealer and get the skinny directly from them.  :thumb:

I am under the impression that they are not making any 2010, or at least not bringing any into the USA, as they had a ton of 2009 K9 leftovers........

When I first looked at them at the dealer, I figured the sale price was BS and they would have none in stock...........Dealer had 2, and said that if they sold before I made the deal that the distributor had "plenty more"...
