Bought my GS500F and loving it so far.  Ever since I first laid eyes on it I've wanted to make a couple of changes to it.  Anyone care to chime in?

1. Remove fairing

2. Replace headlight with one from either an E or SV650.  Don't know which one but if there are any others out there, I'll definitely look at them.

3. Uber Fenderectomy like the one from the wiki.

4. Bar end mirrors.  Recommendation?

5. Buell turn signals on the front and rear.  Example: http://pantablo500.tripod.com/id31.html.

Those are the only changes for now, and while they are strictly cosmetic I think they'll go a long way in making the bike look bad ass.  Any recommendations besides what i posted?

I'm going about the samething, but going the opposite way I have the GS500 naked, but giving it a streetfighter look.

I don't know if it will happen to you, but all I had planned on doing was a set of forks seals, this is what I ended up with, LOL...Good luck with your Mods, but remember once it starts, it''s very hard to stop modding...

What's up i would suggest changing the handlebars if you like the more aggressive riding style to a set of clipon's, 89 GS tree or like I did a set of clubman cafe racers. Also i did a set of CBR F3 rearset  (not as hard as people say  ) they look wicked on the GS. The front end of a GSXR look just sick  on it also.

Those are exactly the same mods I started with too. The best part was I was able to fund the parts just buy selling the plastics.

yep. You can easily get couple hundred bucks from the stock fairings if they are in good condition.  Aftermarket headlights are about 80 bucks, headlight brackets are about 20.
