I'm just posting this as a feeler to explore all of my options. I've spent the summer working on this bike and have gotten a lot of things straightened out and in good order. However, last night it developed a loud piston slap, my thread is in the General Discussion forum describing what happened.

Since I've had the bike I have:

-repainted the tank and fender, White with BRG stripes
-replaced the battery
-replaced the rear brake line and reservoir
-bled the brakes
-added front turn signals
-added another LED brake light
-rebuilt the top end of the motor (moot point apparently)
-wrapped and sealed the exhaust

Before I got the bike it had
-a Katana FE
-a Veypor Gauge
-new tires (currently less than 700 miles on them)
-new pads and rotors
-a recently powder coated frame (metallic black)
-full yoshimura exhaust system
-diamond star headlight modulator

If you are interested in buying the bike, you would get every single spare part I have for it, including but not limited to:
-rear brake cylinder
-random relay I thought was bad
-extra tank petcock
-extra kickstand switch
-ANOTHER bad bottom end with a good clutch and tranny in it.
-a blown head (the one I took off of this motor)
-a jillion carb jets
-electronic goodies I'd been collecting to make dash lights
-a spare front tire (good tread but its been patched)
-Spare case covers
-anything else I can find

My thought is that there may be someone out here looking to pick up another bike who has the knowledge, means, or parts (like a spare bottom end just hanging out looking for a home) that would like to take over my project and let it live a long and happy life. I am considering keeping it and replacing the engine, which I may end up doing by selling all my motor stuff for parts and waiting for a low mileage replacement.

Because of this, this is not a traditional for sale ad, I'm just posting this as a thought and to open up a possible opportunity. So I'm not going to post an asking price full of trickery and bartering. Instead I'm just going to share what I have invested. I bought the bike and the extra motor parts for $1000. I'm roughly estimating that all the things listed in the first list cost me about $500. If someone has a bottom end lying around, or has the ability or desire to rebuild this bottom end, then lets talk and see what we can do. I'm a young and stupid college student but an enthusiast at heart, I got myself in a little deep and I'd like to be able to back out of it without too much damage. Then somewhere down the line I can buy another bike.

EDIT: Pictures

There are a gazillion more in my build thread in the general discussion forum.

Sorry, if you had gotten to me a couple weeks ago I would've taken you up on it, but I've got a motor on a truck as we speak.

I tried, but the forum wouldnt let me be a member for weeks so I couldnt respond.I just need so much little crap for my bike I'm thinking its not worth working on. The carbs are screwy, it needs a new tach, front fender, forks rebuilt, paint (the guy I bought it from painted it kelly green)seat covered,Front brake lever, etc.The onlt thing it has going for it are new battle axes and a solid motor-tranny. :dunno_black:
